LONDON--Before this week, the Guardian newspaper's gradual move into the U.S. hiring dozens of employees in the last two years hadn't produced much of a splash in terms of scoops.
In the last three days that has changed.
The newspaper, which started publishing in the English city of Manchester in 1821 and is now based in London, has established a significant presence in Washington by uncovering the vast scope of secret surveillance operations carried out by U.S. officials at the National Security Agency.....

Obama’s dam isn’t going to burst until the Left-wing MSM start their attacks on the White House. So we should encourage them.
Because the American Media won’t do the job they should do.
The American press is dead.
Is it any wonder those of us who seek real news and investigative journalism turn to the foreign press?
Please excuse any double pings. I know many of you have been waiting for DOT 2. Because of what has transpired in the last couple of weeks, I am witholding it, not so much because I fear for me, but because I fear for Free Republic. The subject matter is explosive.
Since I reposted DOT 1 on an outside blog, the blog has been literally swarmed with gov and mil ips I had to ‘trick’ my software to trace.
I don’t think it is safe anymore to post the truth almost anywhere.
We are now truly at war, and this is the first time I have actually been afraid to take on the powers that be. A cold wind is blowing. Be careful. Be alert. Stay safe.

It’s very significant that the Guardian is doing this. IMHO the left is turning against 0bastard.
MM - maybe save it - give it to a bunch of other people - something?
I am so so so hoping you are better - did you get my freepmail the other day about an alternative treatment method?
It’s one thing to put yourself in jeopardy. It’s a whole other ballgame when you risk friends and friendly strangers. Can’t and won’t.
I know it’s gonna be tough, but think of it as a game of flinch. whoever flinches first loses. But the fate of future generations is on her hands. If we roll over just like Sen. Lindsey Graham the how can we look ourselves in the mirror? Maybe I’m not in the US right now, but I’m watching how a corrupt machine works behind the scenes so I can figure out how to return to the US to help dismantle a corrupt US government machine later on. Right now, I’m like the retreating Russians fighting Napoleon’s army. I might be retreating at the moment but it doesn’t mean I’m not going to launch a counter attack just at the right moment.
This is one area, where I'm thankful for the foriegn competition.

Yes. and I thought I had replied, but these days...I don’t know. Trying to keep it together. Am even trying some very special supplements Dan was kind enough to send me now that the nurses are gone.
Anyway I should mention that not only was the blog swarmed, but my profile page here as well because hardraade put up a link to it. Too late to do anything about it now.
It's fascinating what we can find out when people do their jobs and report the truth.
I think the Lamestream American Media sees their job as being the propaganda ministry of the Obama Regime, and in that role they have had great success in the deception of about half the population.
However, the downside is no reason based person looking for the truth will read the Lying Lamers, and so their former customers are looking to the bloggers and British Media for the real news.
Here’s the funny part. As a former reporter, I always prefered to write bad news, not good news. So as a Republican it’s fun to blast Obama. You make more cash in journalism criticizing and reporting bad news than with acting as a propagandist. That being said, MSNBC is tanking in the ratings, while Fox News enjoys high ratings. But let’s say Sarah Palin or Sen Ted Cruz get elected to the White House in 2016. MSNBC would be blasting them every minute on the minute, but Americans love feisty journalism so it’s possible that MSNBC TV audience ratings would soar and perhaps Fox New would either flatline or even dip in ratings.
Mesta, surely you don’t think anyone posting on or even visiting this site is anonymous?
I have noticed with increasing frequency that big stories keep appearing in British news sites. I kept saying to myself, “Why wasn’t this is on an American news site first?” But I really already know the answer; the American Media is compromised. All the bid wigs in the press and television are either wholly in the tank for Progressiveness or are too scared to rock the boat. The alternative media simply doesn’t have the reach that the MSM has. If the MSM decides a story isn’t to be reported, 80% of Americans never hear of it.
