Editors note: The following is a lightly-edited transcription of an interview with William Binney, a former employee with the NSA who after over 30 years with the agency quit and became a whistleblower, bringing to light many of their illegal activities and mass surveillance of American citizens.
Libertas Institute: Please describe your work experience with the NSA.
William Binney: For approximately 28 years, I was primarily involved in breaking codes and dealing with ciphers and data systems and solving those, and working with data, trying to do threat assessment with all of that data that we had.
After a while, I became the Technical Director of the World Geopolitical and Military Analysis Reporting Group. What that meant was that I had to expand my thinking around the world, and the major problem was data with the web and everything. Thats when I started designing programs to handle that information and be able to select out what was important and what wasnt.
Then I started implementing those programs, and NSA took those programs and started to direct in domestic data. When they did that, thats when I left. I couldnt be a party to that.

I saw this Bush admin clown going after a lefty civil rights attorney on the Factor. I agreed with the lefty 100% in this instance. He was actually saying that the public doesn’t have a right to know in any fashion that it was being spied upon.
President Obama is a republican. catchin’ on, yet?
NSA workers told ABC News that they routinely eavesdropped on phone sex between troops serving overseas and their loved ones in America. They listened in on both satellite phone calls and calls from the phone banks in Iraqs Green Zone where soldiers call home. Former Navy Arab linguist, David Murfee Faulk described how a coworker would say, Hey, check this out theres good phone sex or theres some pillow talk, pull up this call, its really funny, go check it out. Faulk explained they would gossip about the best calls during breaks. It would be some colonel making pillow talk and we would say, Wow, this was crazy.
The media would be already asking, "Mr President, are you going to resign? What is the possibility of impeachment?"
In light of what the Obama Syndicate has done to those who don't toe the line, America's media is intimidated. They don't want Zer0's jack boot thugs coming into their offices, having them ransacked and boxes of files seized and carted off by FBI agents. This is what happened to National Report after publishing a report on the phony birth certificate.
Needs a thread of its own!
Nationalreport.net is a SATIRE web site.
Two separate topics were posted here about it, and they were both pulled at the request of the topic poster.

Either some kind of manipulation is going on, or there is an internal war going on between 0 & his administration and those in the “silent service”.
I have mixed feelings about this 30 years-of-service guy.
He just violated his lifelong agreement not to even ADMIT what agency he worked for, much less WHAT he worked on.
But there IS a limit; the Constitution.
And the 30 years-of-service guy wants the constitutional rights to survive.
One of these whistle blowers needs to produce some recorded calls from zeros blackberry or some calls or emails from other high ranking people. That would prove what they are capable of.
Only to point this out. The Guardian, who put the whole piece out in plain view (a liberal British newspaper)...probably didn’t accidentally discover this.
The timing of this...a week prior to the President hosting the Chinese Premier out in Palm Springs...is suspect. The number one topic at the meeting...was to be cyber warfare.
You can imagine the Chinese guy sitting there and grinning as the topic comes up. He says to the President....’you know....we only spy on countries of a potential threat, who gather privacy data against Chinese citizens’, and the President will be kicking himself.
After that lousy meeting ends, then the President has tour the G8 conference in Northern Ireland. Wonder what the number topic will be in private discussions there? Privacy concerns of the Europeans perhaps.
And finally, a stop in Berlin, to give a speech to a crowd of 100,000 people. Stopping off and giving interviews to German reporters? Don’t count on it....privacy questions will arise.
This was all timed. Whether it was the Chinese, WikiLeaks, the KGB, or disgruntled NSA folks. The Guardian didn’t accidentally find this out.

PRISM Biggest Contributor to Obama Intel Briefings
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/10102170/Bilderberg-Group-2013-guest-list-and-agenda.html
Peter Thiel, (Palantir/PRISM) the billionaire and co-founder of PayPal recently donated 2.5 million dollars to a superPAC that backs presidential candidate Ron Paul. The interesting thing here, and get ready for a shocker, is that Thiel happens to be a part of the Bilderberg Group and its steering committee! Of course, you probably already knew that.
Now, why would Peter Thiel, a seemingly evil investor and tech guru that invested in Facebook and has pushed an NSA spying agenda, donate to the Ron Paul campaign?
Former CIA Director David Petraeus is in attendance at the 2013 Bilderberg Group conference to help construct the big data spy grid, which is set to become the new frontier of clandestine statecraft as Internet connectivity becomes ubiquitous.
The high information will appreciate your info on the meetings and their participant. But the low information will only get what ABC -whistleblower article contains an invasion of bedroom privacy !
Can we get that article a thread of its own? (@ 23)
Remember the "Tower of Babble"?
Effect? Language scramble and words are heard but no longer convey though or meaning.
From a RFQ in 2009:
Questions & Answers on draft RFQ
1.What are the NARA approved formats for storage of data?
Answer:
For approved NARA formats please review the information
at www.nara.gov
2.Approximately how many sites are controlled by EOP?
Answer:
The 7 networks where the EOP currently maintains a presence are:
www.facebook.com/whitehouse
www.twitter.com/whitehouse
www.myspace.com/whitehouse
www.flickr.com/whitehouse
www.youtube.com/whitehouse

I remember when the RFI came out in 2009, originally the Whitehut wanted all social media comments collected and DB’d which sounded nefarious to me back then. Of course, I think we ALL sorta knew that all of our communications, texts, calls, web comments were collected.
The issue is the Rule of Law and the chains on the Fed Gov by the Constitution.
That is not specifically a Right/Left divide.
We are in a battle for the life of our Republic.
Now that is an interesting .pdf
Echelon was the father of “Prism” in my view:
:Still, critics of Echelon warn the potential for abuse never goes away.
“This whole thing is so bizarrely powerful that the opportunity or temptation for abuse is fairly substantial,” says Mr. Pike of the American Federation of Scientists. “How many people in your organization always obey the rules?
“The notion that NSA or any other of these spy networks is the only large organization in human history in which everyone always obeys the rules just flies in the face of common sense,” he says.”
