Well, at least he’s a Republican!
Is he a Republican?
You mean a person that would have no intention of being an incumbent, so that the "R" nominee later would have to start from scratch?
Ok, got it.
At least he calls himself a Republican. But then.....so does Christie.
New Jersey Attorney General Jeff Chiesa outlines priorities

For the past two years, Jeff Chiesa had just one client: Gov. Chris Christie. And when he wasn’t working for him as the governor’s chief counsel, or as Christie’s executive assistant at the U.S. Attorney’s office, he was working alongside him in private dating back 20 years.
Now, as the state’s newest Attorney General, Chiesa is the one setting the agenda and overseeing a dozen divisions, more than 650 attorneys, and the New Jersey State Police.
In an hourlong interview with The Associated Press, he said it’s a role he never envisioned for himself but one worth embracing.
(snip)
Dingy Harry won’t swear him in for at least a month. That’s roughly the amount of time he made Scott Brown wait IIRC
To all Enoses. Vas ist mitt dis time for spekulations hummm?
At least he’ll get through August when hairy tries to modify the filibuster rules.
Why would Chiesa leave an elected, longer-term position for a cameo in the Senate?
Isn’t this going to end Chieasa’s career in state politics?
He says he’s a Catholic, and says he’s a Republican. Let’s see how this goes.
Christie Struggles to Find a Senate Contender
Kean Jr., Kyrillos, Doherty, OToole the list of Republicans who are not running seems to grow by the hour. This development only helps Steve Lonegan.Christie is also expected to soon announce his interim appointment to the U.S. Senate. But with so many Republicans deciding against a run, the likeliehood of the appointed senator running for the seat is dimming.
Ann Coulters guy.
What probably escapes most people is that NJ politics is “special”. And no matter the national political scene, Christie seems to know NJ politics, and NJ attitudes to a ‘t’.
Early on in his governorship, I read the comment that if you go into a working man’s bar in NJ, the place will be filled with guys just like Christie. He speaks their language, he knows their likes and dislikes. He eats their food and drinks their beer. Importantly, they know that and like it.
I mention this to say that he probably knows *exactly* what to do about this senate seat. How to treat it with an early election, that the typical NJsian would prefer, yet to put a popular Republican in the seat as well, giving him a huge advantage going into the special election.
So, national politics aside, which in the long run *might* get another Republican pickup in the senate, Christie is keeping the politics local, and giving the NJsians what they want.
Well, for once, something to weaken the Obama tyrannical regime and their allies in the tyranny, police-state-loving Democrat-controlled Senate.
So much for the separation of Church and State.
>”the general election is Oct. 16, followed by an Aug. 13 primary is Aug. 13”<
Huh? I guess I need a new Calendar.
The man claims to be a “Conservative Republican”.
He’s also not running in the special.
I would have appointed someone who was gonna run, fat boy seemed intent on a seat warmer which is why we heard Kean Senior’s name bandied about.
Meaning we need a candidate. Fat boy’s old primary opponent Steve Lonegan is only Republican in so far. I remember not having a high opinion of him, he’s a conservative but was a flaky candidate. The filing deadline is the 10th I believe.
