How Outraged Should You Be About The NSA Grabbing Your Phone Logs?
National Journal ^ | June 6, 2013 | Brian Fung

Posted on 06/06/2013 8:39:28 AM PDT by Biggirl

Washington is reeling after a court order was uncovered last night showing Verizon has secretly been handing over reams of customer phone records to the National Security Agency on a daily basis. The records don’t contain the content of phone calls—so, just to be clear, this isn’t wiretapping—but they do contain information such as phone numbers, the location and duration of calls, and subscriber and handset ID numbers, all of which fall under the category of “telephony metadata.”

so, just to be clear, this isn’t wiretapping

Well, of course. The government would never do anything like that.

What bothers me is the potential Political implications of this...Can Obama turn it into a witch hunt for the Democrats...like he did with the IRS....that is my problem...

Remember this admin repeatedly neglect foreign leads/tipoffs on the two brothers in the Boston bombing before the actual event.

Afterwards, this admin used the excuse to cast as wide a net as possible, instead of truly target specific intel/leads. All in the name of ‘national security’.

Now we are going to hear the IRS defense: “We are idiots, but we don't have any malice.”

Obama said that the war on terror is over, so this can only be about domestic political persecution, which seems to be the only war that the Obama regime is waging at the moment.

The regime probably has files on everybody and is tracking their associations. Non-commies will be harassed, threatened, persecuted, etc.. They will be driven off society and exterminated. Or at least, that’s their plan.

Someone else mentioned the court order was obtained from Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court via FISA.

And NSA collecting all the metadata from Verizon customers within the United States.

This is truly the blurring of LINES. All the people worried about Patriot Act before are now justified.

Oh?   The article seems unclear on that:

The text of the court order doesn’t rule out text messages, multimedia messages, or other forms of communication conducted over telephony services.
(Emphasis added.)

Yeah, witch hunts involving number crunching of extremely detailed and voluminous data by the world’s most capable computers. That’s, as Emeril would say, definitely “kicking it up a notch.”

How much outrage can a person take?

stealing the election
the media being completely biased
dems trashing good people in the Republican party
creating a false picture of who 0 really is and selling it the people
Benghazi
Fast and Furious
IRS
Hillary “What difference does it make?”
Holder refusing to prosecute a crime committed by his buddies
getting good news coverage during a hurricane then doing nothing
seizing money from BP
illegally taking over GM
“firing” the head of GM
condemning the slightest insult to his buddies
never condemning murder by his buddies
refusing to put the blame where it belongs in terrorist attacks
more?

The NSA is helping to make an enemies list by finding associations between people.

Why only Verizon customers?
Why weren’t customers of AT&T, Sprint and other companies targeted?

DHS trying to remove as much ammo from the public as possible?

These people have created an environment they may wish they hadn't. They are just begging for another civil war.

Possibly because Verizon is the only one they're telling us about?

They were. We just haven't seen the court order yet.

You can bet all ISVs are similarly under court orders.

Every communication of every type everywhere is sucked into the NSA. They own your a$$. I think we should overwhelm them with crap like this:

Have you ever owned a fully automatic ricin laced pressure cooker terrorist bomb-like basselope?

No?

Oh well! The NSA is all over your b*tt now!
