Shocked, I am. Funny how fast DOJ can move when they are truly concerned.

We plan to go to war against the foreign press? Is the White House aware that those follks actually practice real journalism, and can fight back?

The Justice Department is a US Department and it better start focusing on and prosecuting the illegalities going on at home. The country is enraged over what has gone on and on what is NOT BEING DONE ABOUT IT.

Isn’t The Guardian located in the UK? I wonder what David Cameron will have to say about this.

I’m sure they’ll start with Guardian reporter phone records.

Wait. The Justice Department, seeing a heinous Police State warrantless seizure of records on ALL Americans....

.....will not investigate the nefarious actor who illegally and unethically acted....

....but will investigate, instead, the FORIEGN press organ that reported it.

Yep, we are *officially* the Soviet Union.

Obama’s Politburo is outraged that a British paper is finding out the truth about its spying on U.S. citizens. They couldn’t or wouldn’t keep track of the jihadi brothers in Boston, but they are hell on wheels when watching the grandmothers and grandfathers in the TEA Party.

What a disgusting shame that Americans put up with this attack on our liberty by unelected or mis-elected officials.

Anything that makes the regime look bad they target, otherwise leaks intend to make Bammy look glorious are not pursued.

This is going downhill fast...

It’s a shame.

Time spent by the police state investigating and prosecuting some foreign entity will be time lost from it’s real duties of investigating and prosecuting its own citizens to keep them safe from terrorists.

Thanks, W, for the anti-Patriot Act. A masterful stroke.

That the Guardian broke this story makes me wonder if an American journalist/publication had the story and gave it to the Guardian to avoid the long arm of the Department of JustUs..??..

NBC's Pete Williams: Justice Dept will likely launch investigation against Guardian re NSA story on seizure of Americans phone records.— Ellie Hall

So? The Just US dept. can investigate all it wants. The most it can do is what? Close down the Guardian's office in NY?

I can see Cameron saying to Eric "the red" Holder, go bugger yourself.

Politically The Guardian is the British equivalent of the New York Times, only rather more hard left, anti-American and anti-Israel. Only in Britain the papers are both a lot more honest about their political biases, and paradoxically more willing to lay them aside in pursuit of a good story. The conservative (by British standards) Telegraph just helped expose Tory bribe taking in the House of Lords. Can you imagine the New York TImes not only honestly reporting about the corruption of a Democrat Senator, but running a sting to get him on video discussing the services he can offer for bribes?

Me neither.

The question which comes to my mind is why only Verizon? Are they doing the same thing to Sprint, AT&T and all the others too?

LOL Elizabeth Hasselback questioned why we had to find out this info via the Brits and made mention of the IRS and AP scandals and obama butt kisser Barbara Walters immediately rose to the administrations defense.
