Appearing on MSNBC, singer and former civil rights icon Harry Belafonte told President Barack Obama how he should take control of the political debate. His answer? Jail opponents. “That there should be this lingering infestation of really corrupt people who sit trying to dismantle the wishes of the people, the mandate that has been given to Barack Obama, and I don’t know what more they want,” Belafonte told race hustler Al Sharpton. “The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is to work like a third world dictator and just put all these guys in jail.”

Isn’t it amazing how this one-hit-wonder can keep getting an audience from the lamestream media? What does he do for a living? Does he have a job? How can this moron have this much hatred and contempt for everything that is wonderful about this country? Incredible!

Who gives two sh*ts what a glorified calypso lounge singer has to say? Shuffle off, Harry... your day ended four decades ago.
His film career was completely negligible. He was in a couple of OK films in the ‘50s (Carmen Jones, Odds Against Tomorrow) and that’s about it.
I remember the quote from some unnamed black agitator who went to Cuba after the revolution, expecting to see equality of races that did not exist under Batista. Surprise, all the Cuban leaders were “white Hispanics”, who still treated blacks like dogs.
In frustration, the agitator finally blurted out that equality would have happened, but communism was the only way the white man could insure that the black man was “kept down.” That is, the Cuban revolution was a racist effort to keep the black man down.
I’d like to hear his theory about jailing opponents should a conservative ever hold the office of President again.
The U.S is a republic, not a democracy. Our reps are democratically elected to enforce the constitution, not to give us what we want regardless of the constitution. We seem to forget this.
What mandate is that, Harry?
