How Romney could have won the popular vote (It all came down to turnout)
Daily Caller ^ | 06/01/2013

Posted on 06/01/2013 5:31:18 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

White and Hispanic turnout fell from 2004 to 2012, according to a new study by the Center for Immigration Studies based on newly-released U.S. Census data.

Had turnout equaled what it was in 2004, 4.7 million more whites would have voted in 2012, of which 4.2 million were not college graduates, according to the study.

Obama received five million more votes than Romney.

“As Republicans think about how they can expand their voter base, the new data suggest that one of their biggest problems in the last presidential election was that so many less-educated whites sat home,” said Steven Camarota, CIS’ director of research and author of the report. CIS favors low levels of legal immigration

“These voters, who have been hit hard by the recession, have traditionally supported Republicans,” Camarota said. “It seems likely that by supporting the Schumer-Rubio amnesty, GOP legislators would further alienate these voters.”

To win the popular vote with female support, Romney would have needed four extra percentage points of the women’s vote (48 percent rather than the 44 he actually received), with each percentage point equating to 714,000 votes.

To earn the popular vote with blacks and Hispanics, Romney would have needed an extra 15 or 23 percentage points, respectively. But the statistics regarding whites demonstrated how closely the Republican candidate came to a plurality win.

With one percentage point of the white vote equating to 980,000 votes, Romney would have won the popular vote with a mere three percent greater turnout.

The ONLY one that “stayed home” was Mr. RomneyCARE
who needed to be protected always ... by his wife.

Mr. RomneyCARE also attacked Gov. Palin for Obama
and Soros in 2008.

The GOPe post election pity party theme song:

Feelings
Nothing more than feelings,
Trying to forget my feelings of love

Teardrops,
Rolling down on, my face
Trying to forget my, feelings of love

Feelings,
For all my life I'll feel it
I’ll wish I've never met you, girl
You'll never come again

Feelings,
Wo-o-o feelings
Wo-o-o feelings
Again in my heart

Feelings,
And feelings like I've never have you
Again in my heart.

Feelings,
For all my life I'll feel it
I wish I've never met you, girl
You'll never come again

Feelings,
Feelings like I've lost you
And feelings like I've never have you
Again in my life.

Feelings,
Wo-o-o feelings
Wo-o-o feelings
Again in my heart

Feelings,
Wo-o-o feelings
Wo-o- feelings

Thanks for posting this, I get another chance to post that cult member Romney sucks and is a degenerate liar and coward descended from a long line of degenerate liars and cowards.

Had he won, he would have done NOTHING to reverse whats happening in DC right now, and the GOP would be falling all over itself to divvy up the spoils and be the conductors on the gravy train, instead of merely riding along.

Pirates and the Mafia are small potatoes compared to the arch criminals from both parties in DC.

I think they've already chosen their candidate.

Tea party groups mobilizing against Common Core education overhaul

The opposition’s momentum was evident this week in Michigan, where Republican lawmakers moved toward delaying Common Core despite entreaties from former Florida governor Jeb Bush, a respected voice within the party on education and one of the most vocal GOP champions of the new standards. Bush, who is considering a run for president in 2016, defended Common Core during a closed-door lunch on Tuesday with state House Republicans in Lansing, then reiterated his arguments Wednesday in appearances with Snyder during a policy conference on Mackinac Island. “Do not pull back. Please do not pull back from high, lofty standards,” Bush said in a pleading tone. He described Common Core as a “clear and straightforward” strategy.

The five swing states were controlled by voter fraud in targeted precincts. Romney could have won the popular vote but the Obamanation would not let him win the electoral votes. The fraud was done deftly enough, in solid minority precincts so no credible argument could be made by republicans. The fix was in early on and the republican party knew it. Political consultants and the permanent political class get rich off of elections. Elections are no longer about votes but about enrichment of consultants and long term office holders. Congress is the most corrupt organization in the USA.

“Even making the choice between a “moderate” and a jihadi/packer/communist was a no-brainer.

The no brain, stay-at-home “conservatives” are just as guilty as the RAT-mafia for giving us four more years of Obamanation!

We may never recover...thanks a lot!”

You are absolutely correct! Unfortunately, many conservatives never learn. They don’t grasp that politics is the art of the possible and they prefer to “burn down the village to save it”.

Yeah, you nailed it. The white vote is split. And with the massive immigration combined with the dying off off the WWII and Korean War generations the last ten years, the GOP has lost their ability to win a number of key states like Colorado, Florida, NC, Virginia and Ohio.

I see only two plays here. We need to dump the social conservative stuff and play to the young voters and their lack of jobs or figure out a way to play to the upper Midwest and take WI, IA, MI, OH somehow with an economic message that doesn’t champion free trade and elite corporate crap.

The tool and die guy in Michigan is no fan of “free trade” and GOPe policies. And he likes his guns as well. That means he doesn’t like Mitt Romney. But it also doesn’t mean he likes Sarah Palin or Richard Mourdock either.

This is where Scott Walker comes in. Walker stays clear of the social issues, grew up in humble beginnings and didn’t even finish college. And he’s all about economic opportunity and less government regulations.

I’d rather be yelling at a President Romney, than retching at the islamification and queering of America.

Choose.

Run a moderate again, lose again.

I don't advocate that, just pointing out the stupidity of not engaging in the battle.

When the stakes are that high, patriots should need no additional motivatation to form an effective opposition.

I wasn’t a fan of Romney - but I voted for him. I got up, trudged out the door and voted for him. I’d like to think most of us on the conservative side did too, even though their hearts weren’t in it. I did it to get that a$$hole out of office.

In retrospect, I now realize Obama was working something else - keeping the ‘get out the vote’ groups on our side from functioning. This, coupled with what I know (I KNOW) were outright fraudulent voting, suppression and downright manufactured votes in just a few key precincts in a few critical key states, threw this election again to a madman Muslim.

At this point, I’ve pretty much given up. I see a coming immigration battle that we’ll lose and we’ll have 50 million new Democrat voters on the rolls - Obama’s successor won’t have to break any law then. We will be undone. When you add 25-50 Million new ‘citizens’ to the rolls that already contain over 100 million on some type of entitlement not associated with SS or Medicare, you will end up with a Wiemar Republic. And, even then, the media will be out there blowing rainbows up everyones’ arses.

not that I did not vote for Romney...I did.

but you'd probably be yelling at Romney for the islamification and queering of America...maybe to a slightly lesser degree...

In the bright side, Romney did probably so ruin it for moderates that no moderate will win a presidential election again for decades.

Now if only the GOP could figure that out.

“For the record: I voted for Romney. He was the last RINO I will ever vote for. From now on, give me a Conservative or I stay home. The party has an obligation to me — I do not have an obligation to the party.”

+10,000 I am tired of voting for people that might as well be Democrats.
