God wants to get back into our country. It all seems so simple, doesn't it? Yet so few take the cue...
Why arent we listening?
I was on I-40 trying to get home from work. The roads were surprisingly packed at 6:30 PM. I think too many people tried to bug out before the storm, but that doesn’t work if everyone else is bugging out at the same time.
What restaurant may I ask? My buddy’s restaurant off 44 was to have some guest bikers stop in for dinner that a travel agent had arranged. Wonder if its the same group.
Eggberts
You KNOW those are gargantuan storms!
Weather radar doesn’t look upward very well, but rather out to the sides. They place weather radars and National Weather Service stations outside and mostly downstream of large cities, so they’re able to watch events as they unfold over the major population center. NWS: Norman watches Oklahoma City. The dark area in that image is just the artifact of not being able to see what’s overhead in Norman.
I-40 and we found one of 'em.
Is the radar facility located well to the east-southeast of Norman? The apparently dry area is nearly circular, which would jibe with some sort of radar artifact, but with evident rotation around the periphery on all sides. It’s not moving much. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see that loop pop up on some conspiracy oriented site, since it creates something of an illusion of directing the cell away from Tinker AFB, which is just beyond the edge of the cell into the black apparently dry area. It really is unusual looking, to me and at least one other FReeper. I’m no meteorologist but I’m not a complete novice, either. Can’t honestly say I’ve ever seen anything quite like that before.
Yes, Shep is good at reporting breaking news. He did a good job today.
Amen!
Thank you, Salvation.
OKLAHOMA CITY - UPDATE: 11:00 p.m.
Via Oklahoma Associated Press news wire:
Oklahoma City area hospitals are reporting critically injured patients after a deadly tornado that killed at least two people struck the metro area.
Integris Health System spokeswoman Brooke Cayot says:
... three of the system’s hospitals received close to 50 patients and that five are in critical condition and one of those critically injured is a child.
Mercy spokeswoman Rachel Wright says the hospital took in four patients — all in stable condition.
Two of those critically injured were in vehicles that were on Interstate 40 west of Oklahoma City when they were caught in the tornado.
UPDATE 10:40 p.m.
OU Medical Center officials say they have extra staff to handle injuries if need be, per standard protocol. At this time they say they have only had three children with storm injuries and two adults at the main hospital.
Heavy flooding and stranded vehicles are visible on Reno between Rockwell and Council.
OG&E is reporting 74,113 customers without power across the OKC metro area.
Listening now to the aftermath in Oklahoma.......deep flooding as you see rescuers wading thru creek deep water where there isn’t a creek!
This could have been a whole lot worse by how it was forming up and moving.
PS I think I missed your correction. I couldn’t help but wonder if the woman and her baby had a husband? If so a very hard time for him.
Shepard Smith -- the prancing sodomite -- is the Edward R. Murrow of the present era. And, believe me, that's not a compliment. Far from it!
damn, NE OK is ‘bout to be hit again
...”Yet so few take the cue”....
Well...we are told there are “seasons” and this is the Tornado Season...and it is Tornado Ally...those who live there know well the risk...but with this....
...I think God has shown great mercy as this could have developed to a F-5 Tornado. He has protected and rescued many in this storm...and He will comfort those who have losses.
You’re kidding??? What news are you listening to?
I don’t like him either but in this case he did a good job.
And don’t preach at me, you smart ass. I don’t need your crap.
I’m a lifer here in OKC. I’m about ready for the hot summer time and see if we can get out of this Tornado Season.... Half of one of the neighbor’s trees behind me is down on my back fence... and into my back yard. Be running a chainsaw in the morning...
It’s a good prayer, isn’t it?
