He betrayed his office as a priest, and made a ton of money writing evil books. He also let himself be used by the left wing press to distort and lie about what Catholics really believe.
Well, most of that was in the past. I hope that he repented in the end, and came back to God. RIP.

Irish-American Fr. Greeley, 85, was one of the most prolific writers of his time, writing novels and non-fiction of all genres for just about any media one can think of.
He made millions through his literary output....which he donated to Catholic charities.
A professor of sociology, he was an arch-liberal in thought, deeds and public involvement.
He was born in 1928 in my home town of Oak Park, Illinois (suburb 20 miles west of Chicago).
In 2008 in Rosemont, Illinois, his clothing got caught in the door of a taxi, the taxi pulled away with him in tow. He suffered a severe brain injury.....and never published anything again.

Thanks for the heads up. I will pass this one over in silence.

Sounds like Pittsburgh's late Communist "labor priest", Msgr. Charles Owen Rice. He tooled around town exclusively in high-end German luxury automobiles.

I was once told by a Catholic priest (in the 1980s) that Fr. Greeley never had an unpublished thought.
