Too many people who lean left would rather crack nasty jokes than actually be liberal and listen to other views.
Why is it that liberals feel no qualms about being rude? Far too many people who are perfectly polite and courteous, otherwise, think nothing of insulting you for not sharing their political opinions. They look at us with disdain, thinking we're unenlightened conservatives and never hesitating to say so.
As the lone conservative at the tennis courts, I cringe at the Sarah Palin jokes and the jabs at Mormons. When news came on 9/11 that planes had struck the World Trade Center, my partner commented that Bush would use it as an excuse to increase military spending. Bush, of course, is dumb – as are all Republicans, and we're epitomized by Dan Quayle, whose spelling of "potatoe" has entered historical canon. (Never mind Obama's telling us there are 57 states, or having a meltdown without a teleprompter) And now it's Marco Rubio, caught drinking water. "Next time he'll forget to zip his fly," joked one of the guys. Mitt Romney changes his mind more often than he changes his underwear. Reagan had Alzheimer's when he made B movies, and Bonzo had to feed him his lines. And would you believe, from a guy with a pathetic serve, this comment about the Clarence Thomas, justice of the supreme court: send him back to the plantation.
Liberals have no shame. A dinner guest in our home stood up at the table, clinked his wine glass and said, "It shows how stupid the American people are, they voted for Bush twice." He turned to me, smirking, and said, "I know you voted for him." A biochemist who had been too busy learning liberal doctrine instead of the basic manners of being a guest....

I think there is an easy answer:
Liberalism is “easy morality” - it embraces whatever the quick, short term solution is.
Conservatism is more like “tough love” - it embraces the common sense long term solution.
Liberalism instantly wants gay marriage without having to think about it’s effect on society. Liberalism will never take responsibility for the “quick fix” of the welfare state or laxness on illegal immigration (though some conservatives are responsible)
The rudeness is best explained in Ann Coulter’s book “Demonic”. The left loves images, the right loves analysis. The image of Sarah Palin was created by SNL and promulgated by the leftist media and is completely different from any analysis of who Palin truly is (a graft-killing, intelligent woman).
The best way I’ve found to kill rudeness is to call them out on it and make them the bad guy.

I am 62 and figure I've got 10 or so "good" years left. So I am willing to take them on in public. I mean, what's the worst could they do to me? Slap me with their man purse? And in 10 years, I am putting them away (enjoy the prison showers, boys) for elder abuse.
The only "liberals" remaining in American politics are Republicans today. The Democrat Party has been hijacked lock, stock and barrel by the hard left, and they don't play by antiquated Western values such as civility and reasoned debate.
Read Rules for Radicals to understand how they operate. They are uninterested in debate or discussion. They don't want to win hearts and minds. They want to totally destroy any opposition by any means necessary and intimidate through government power any who might oppose them.
WTF is spiritual? It's the same answer I give to my wife when she says she is an independent. "Oh. You mean you don't have principles?"

Bull****! Two of my five middle aged kids are liberals and they all grew up in the same home and all work hard,very hard.

In the absence of G-d, all the liberals' hang-ups about racism, sexism, homophobia, islamophobia, and "patriarchy" are just the social constructs of liberals with no objective existence. Really.

They are very racist. I used to hear their remarks at work. Hypocrites.
Isn't it like a perverted form of antinomianism where instead of the idea that mere belief in Christianity frees one from having to do the laws and rules of Christianity; it is mere belief in neo Marxism frees the Liberals from having to be personally charitable, generous, helping the poor themselves; etc. The Liberals don't have to do good works or have good manners; they have their belief in Socialism and that is virtue enough for them.
The republicans are proving themselves to be spineless. They hate Conservatives.
I notice Carville is beginning to make his rounds already spreading lies about SS and medicare which means Hillary is not far behind. I’m sure McCain will be there to greet her when she announces.
