Isn't it like a perverted form of antinomianism where instead of the idea that mere belief in Christianity frees one from having to do the laws and rules of Christianity; it is mere belief in neo Marxism frees the Liberals from having to be personally charitable, generous, helping the poor themselves; etc. The Liberals don't have to do good works or have good manners; they have their belief in Socialism and that is virtue enough for them.

That is an outstanding analogy. I don’t know that I’ve seen that stated so clearly. Given the studies on who is more charitable between liberals and conservatives, that is some powerful stuff with which to smack a progressive Christian upside the head.
