DEARBORN-Police in Dearborn are trying to understand why a pressure cooker was left in the restroom of the Adoba Hotel, forcing the evacuation of guests until the early morning hours.
The evacuation also canceled Sunday nights banquet of the University of Muslim Association of America.
Asgar Zaidi of Washington D.C. has been attending the organizations conference for the past 11 years. He says its the first time its ever been held in Dearborn.
We all look forward to this time of year, Memorial Day weekend we have fun, we learn and its just disheartening to see this type of stuff happen here, said Zaidi.
The pressure cooker discovered at the hotel was detonated by police as a precaution, but contained no explosives.
Dearborn officers have determined that the pressure cooker had not been converted into any type of explosive device.
Pressure cookers were used in the bombings at the Boston Marathon....

Muslim terrorist kids “Show and Tell”.
gee, my grandma used to do great things with pressure cookers!
now it seems they have new applications....
A meatloaf in 15 min. I know what I’m making this week! I love my pressure cooker but I’ve never done a meatloaf in it.
A pot roast, corned beef/cabbage/potatoes, other cuts of meat etc, in a pressure cooker, which is now pretty much replaced by the CrockPot. I bake meatloaf. It’s turn into baby food liquid in a pressure cooker.
That's why I think they had a "scare" before the Marathon....people noticed there had been many dogs checking things out.
It’s getting to the point where you cannot take your pressure cooker with you anywhere!
Thanks for the ping/graphic(LOL); post; thread.
If you can’t handle the pressure cooker, find an oven mit.
“The muslims had to call off their banquet”
‘Works for me.
Nah..CH..you may be cooking it on high too long. Just bring it to the “spiffle” stage and turn it down. I have never had one turn to babyfood...and truthfully never eaten one cooked any other way.
When I was a kid we always cooked outside or used a pressure cooker (or presto cooker as my granny called it) to keep the house cool. Winter..the stove kept the house warm. I have cooked almost everything in mine.
It was a very respectable precursor to the microwave and crockpot and retains flavor well.
FrdmLvr..I think I’ll make one this week as well. It’s been a while and I do love cold meatloaf sandwiches! Don’t get me started on homemade grape jelly!
(Wow! what a thread drift...from bombs to meatloaf!)
The muslims had to call off their banquet
Some lucky goat in Dearborn is praising Allah!
(What? You don’t know how they tenderize the goat before it goes in the cooker?)
Something muslim was interrupted? Boo-hoo... Maybe if the gabajillions of moderate muslims would speak out against the one or two incredibly, extremely rare and isolated cases that haven’t really been proven to be connected to Islam anyway, then things like this would not happen.
Coulter is nothing more than a two-bit attention whore that says whatever she thinks will get someone to buy her books.
Huh?
Gives new meaning to B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bomb).
I am old so this was long ago - my mother used the pressure cooker to make a meat loaf on Sunday after church and it had marvelous gravy in it and in a separate bowl there was her canned whole tomatoes. And, there was always cornbread at lunch and “supper” as it was called then.
