DEARBORN-Police in Dearborn are trying to understand why a pressure cooker was left in the restroom of the Adoba Hotel, forcing the evacuation of guests until the early morning hours.
The evacuation also canceled Sunday nights banquet of the University of Muslim Association of America.
Asgar Zaidi of Washington D.C. has been attending the organizations conference for the past 11 years. He says its the first time its ever been held in Dearborn.
We all look forward to this time of year, Memorial Day weekend we have fun, we learn and its just disheartening to see this type of stuff happen here, said Zaidi.
The pressure cooker discovered at the hotel was detonated by police as a precaution, but contained no explosives.
Dearborn officers have determined that the pressure cooker had not been converted into any type of explosive device.

What difference does it make..... OOOPS.
I long for days when a pressure cooker was used to can fruits and vegetables...or to cook a delectable meatloaf. :(
Gone with the wind I guess.
Just a training program and a test of response for Dearbornistan (largest Muslim population in the Midwest). The Muslims want to see how the authorities will respond so in July they will have all the contingencies worked out so as to inflict mass casualities
Psychological warfare. For the next year, all you need to do is leave a pressure cooker someplace, and the bomb squad will be called.
Probly had a pork roast in it, with carrots and potatoes.
They can’t figure out why?
I’d say it had exactly the effect it was supposed to. The muslims had to call off their ‘banquet’.
They wuz going to blowed up theirselves?
How do you cook a meatloaf in a pressure cooker???
Bingo.
Cops must have a lot of fun blowing up these perfectly safe objects! Like standing downwind from a pile of arrested burning ganja.
I hope they cook the broccoli or brussel sprouts in it. Have they been banned from Walmart
I was thinking the same thing.
We all look forward to this time of year, Memorial Day weekend

What better day to learn how to make a pressure cooker bomb than on the day we remember our glorious dead. They’re upset they didn’t get the chance to learn how to kill a lot of people at once.
Heaven help us if they upgrade to “magic bullet” blenders...the horror!
So much for the ramen noodle spaghetti someone was going to share at the potluck dinner.
Sounds like some Amish dudes were preparing chicken in the loo.
Very easy...and in my youth that is how we always cooked one. It kept from heating up the house..no a/c. :) In fact, if I still had a pressure cooker (nod, nod, wink, wink) that’s how I would cook one.
Make the meatloaf up as normal. If I had a pressure cooker, lol, most came with a raised platform so the juices would drain. Cook for about 15 minutes. The smell of it cooking makes me crazy...super moist but still retains the “loaf” texture.
