SAINT-JEROME, QC - A school board north of Montreal has launched an internal investigation after school staff strip searched 28 high school students to find a cellphone during a year-end exam.
The board admits that staff at Cap-Jeunesse high school in Saint-Jerome, QC, "lacked judgment" for asking 28 Grade 10 students to remove their clothes when a phone went missing last week.
The students were ordered to put their phones on a teacher's desk to prevent cheating during a math exam but one phone was unaccounted for, prompting teachers to order the strip search.
"They put us in a small room," one teenage girl, who didn't give her name, told QMI Agency. "(They said) 'take off your bra, then raise your arms.' They even tapped us on the back."

1. fire them
2. put them in jail
3. ban them from ever working around minors again
After reading the article, I am sensing that the girls were the only ones searched.
From the article:
“Students will have an option to re-take the exam, says Brochu, who admits “the climate was not conducive to a good test.”
Ya think!?!?!?
“The students were ordered to put their phones on a teacher’s desk to prevent cheating during a math exam but one phone was unaccounted for,”
Seems like they could have had each student pick up their phone and hold it over their head. The one without a phone is the culprit.
How do they know how many of the students had phones to begin with ?
No one thought to dial up the missing phone ?
The saddest part of the story is not how teachers thought they had the ability to conduct this strip search, but how 28 students have been so cowed as to let it happen.
For some reason, I am unable to open the link. so, I’ll have to ask...did they find the cell phone?
Were all 28 of the students female ?
VERNON:
Everything’s a big joke, huh Bender? The false alarm you pulled, Friday, false alarms are really funny, aren’t they...What if your home, what if your family...
...what if your cellphone was on fire?
BENDER:
Impossible, sir...It’s in Johnson’s underwear...
Cell phones don’t belong in the classroom in the first place.
It would have been set to buzz only
Prison for all the teachers. Self worth and self defense training for all the students. Judgments against the teachers to be paid to each student for the rest of their lives.
Are kids stupid? Some adult tells you to remove your clothes and you do? Kids should have said no and called their parents or told the principal to call their parents.
My youngest had a phone in HS. it was to be kept off during school exept for buzz mode and only picked up if myself or his mother called.
I trust my son. And he never failed me on this. But in an emergency, I trusted him over the school administrators any day to take action.
Probably, but that still should be detectable without a strip search.
And who had the number?
Yes I agree, and I don’t understand why they didn’t. Are people really becoming this mindless?
“Cell phones dont belong in the classroom in the first place.”
Neither do naked children.
“It would have been set to buzz only”
You mean “vibrate?” Where was it found? Er,,,,, nevermind!
