SAINT-JEROME, QC - A school board north of Montreal has launched an internal investigation after school staff strip searched 28 high school students to find a cellphone during a year-end exam.
The board admits that staff at Cap-Jeunesse high school in Saint-Jerome, QC, "lacked judgment" for asking 28 Grade 10 students to remove their clothes when a phone went missing last week.
The students were ordered to put their phones on a teacher's desk to prevent cheating during a math exam but one phone was unaccounted for, prompting teachers to order the strip search.
"They put us in a small room," one teenage girl, who didn't give her name, told QMI Agency. "(They said) 'take off your bra, then raise your arms.' They even tapped us on the back."

If a single kid followed their directions.....that would be of more concern.
Kids are brainwashed to trust teachers more than parents these days
Specifically, how many of them had two phones and how many of them had none?
Best post!
Oh BS. Should the emergency arise, they can stop the test and the little angels can run a grab their phones. Yeesh!!
People are a bunch of panicked bunnies.
You’re an idiot and a jackass all at the same time.
Blame the kids for minding authority, then next thing you’ll bitch when the kids won’t listen tot authority. You’re just being an asshole.
Stop blaming the victims.
Your ass should be kicked out of here.
The lack of human interaction is going to be our downfall.
My 21 year old nephew was telling me that his teachers didn’t even bother to teach. They handed them tests and let them look up the answers on their phones. He says they would just cheat anyway.
People can whine and cry about it all they want but we used to know what was and wasn’t acceptable. Just because strip searching students is wrong, doesn’t make cell phones in class right.
When I was a factory foreman cell phones were really starting to take off and I didn’t allow them in my department unless someone was expecting an important call from home or something.
At the cafe that I often attend, there is little if any of human interaction. Most of the patrons are students, with Macs, some older guys with PCs, and the only talk you’ll hear is among the old guys. The young server behind the counter, a Mexican, when he’s not brewing coffee or making samwitches, is playing with his smartphone.
The problem with smartphones, and sometimes I walk down the street betting myself that I won’t see a young woman without a cellphone before I reach my destination, and I usually win, the problem with cellphones is that people apparently always want to be somewhere else. A few years ago I was sitting at a bar and there were two guys in the corner who came in together. One of them was on the cellphone the whole time, ignoring his companion. And he kept talking about what he would do when he’d get to where his phone conversation partner was. And I thought, that he’d be there on his cellphone again, talking about what he’d do when he got to wherever.
For starters.
Einstein was right and we are there already. Before the cell phone they couldn’t read or write and now all they do is talk rubbish. Great post.
Pervs!
And how on earth did parents get a hold of their kids before cell phones?
Yes, there were dire emergencies and natural disasters BEFORE cells. How the heck did we survive?
Cell phones are a great thing made even greater when they’re unobtrusive.
And so it has.
Unfortunately, most people do not know how to be unobtrusive while out in public.
Cells are a big pet peeve of mine, at least how the public uses them while out.
Polite society now has ceased to exist.
Yeah, feel free to make suggestions. LOL
