The Ted Cruz vs. John McCain feud is on, so proclaimed the Washington Post on May 24, 2013. The two senators have already clashed on raising the debt ceiling, with Cruz proclaiming that he does not trust Republicans like McCain and then betting the older senator that he could not get a majority of the GOP senate caucus to sign on to a debt ceiling increase.
McCain has more than once expressed irritation at Cruz and his uncompromising version of conservatism. But it an ironic way, the former maverick from Arizona has only himself to blame.
In a fit of brilliance, when he was running for president in 2008, McCain chose the then obscure, but charismatic, telegenic, and capable then governor of Alaska Sarah Palin to be his running mate. The choice provided his campaign with a shot of energy, though not enough to overcome his own deficits as a candidate and the economic meltdown then occurring.
While McCain has sunk back to the obscurity of being a venerable senator, Palin, thrust as she has been in the national spotlight, has seen her stock soar. By her ability to lay hands on other political candidates and often give them the margin of victory, Palin has become the most powerful female politician on the planet, despite the fact that she holds no political office and has seen her political obituary written so many times and so thoroughly prematurely that it has become a cliché....

Reid had a 10-15% crooked vote advantage from the get go.
There does not seem to be a clear definition of “natural born citizen” that everyone agrees with.
You LOVE and loyalty to McCain is very moving. To bad McCain is really a Democrat.
Sorry, my sister who HATES Dems esp because their stance on gays and abortion lives in LV and NV areas and she told me that Angles idiotic comment recorded on that campaign were so f..ing stupid that that they made every Republican there embarrassed.
She blew an easy win Senate Seat.

Several of us here were warning folks that Angle was a bad candidate. She had already blown two races before getting the Senate nomination and was already prone to making strange comments and unproven allegations (she accused Dean Heller of voter fraud, which almost cost us a safe House seat). “Nut” is not too harsh a word, and sore loser (after her 2006 loss to Heller) is another. She was just about the only GOP candidate in NV who could lose to the unpopular Reid. A ficus plant could’ve beaten Reid, yet Angle blew it.
Ken Buck in CO also blew a winnable race against a far-left seat warmer non-entity. We can’t nominate candidates like these and hope to win.
As for Akin, he is a good man, had an excellent voting record, but he broke the Clayton Williams rule of never joking or talking about rape. No matter what you say, it’s going to get you in trouble and no good will come of it. Mourdock fell down the rabbit hole with Akin on that same rule. If you get asked a media gotcha question about abortion and how it relates to rape, you say you’re pro-life and you leave it at that.

I am sure Cruz sees many people get incredibly angry when he says:
“You do not understand...”
I would estimate Cruz’s IQ is between a fairly lofty 150-168 at this time.
He appears to be able substantially learn and grow over time and rewire itself; something few thought the brain can actually do as an adult.
Cruz will prove to a formidable foe to the burned out crackhead in the Barack Hut now; what did you think he was doing while Ambassador Stevens was being murdered by sub-human savages....
Eat your blackberries kids.

Look at how the media unfairly demonized Sarah Palin
Who hasn't made a mistake or said something stupid? The news media will take any mistake and put that out there for all to see. When there isn't a gaffe the media will create one as with the Rubio taking a drink of water “gaffe” .
I 2nd that!
“Cruz is a lethal weapon who nails libs and RINOs alike.
His is not your Tod Akin or Sharon Angle crackpot conservative.”
Thank You! Thank you for saying that! There are now at least two of us who understand the difference between a good conservative candidate and a couple of dogs that were foisted on the voters without adequate “real” vetting and as a consequence lost ( and while so doing gave the Tea Party a bad name)! I get so damned tired of hearing from the defenders of these two morons that “they were right on this issues.”
The same “scholar” who penned the article on his research that validated McCain as eligible also says the same for Cruz.
It is a debate the Libs are already salivating over and it will be an issue, but their hypocrisy in trying to make the technical point will also show their blind eye to their Messiah.
I am sick of libs just as many others but did you “sickoflibs” ever think by “trying” to make your point three times now, and I’m sure counting, that you are seen just as a silly yoot on a tantrum?
For those of us who respect Sarah, one of the reasons is she does not stab any benefactor to her rise in the back. It was not McCain’s biggest personal mistake to have run for the Presidency, but instead it was picking a running mate who would overshadow him by a mile. He asked her long before his moves back to the dark side which was again after the 2010 midterms, and she kept that promise.
I suppose you would have rather seen her for being just another politician who says one thing and does another. Additionally, you have not seen her at any McCain events since then now have you?
Cruz also seems to be one of the few who remember WHO got him elected and why.
He is certainly fighting like a bat out of hell for us and our country, from day one.
God Bless him and keep he and his family safe.
“Sharron Angle is not a nut. She is one awesome woman, who was inexperienced. Akin is a good man whose ego got in the way of his stepping aside, the only rational decision after his faux pas. There were much better candidates in Mo. Claire won a gift second term. Bob”
Wrong on both counts! Both of these people are right wing NUTS! They hold some very screwy views in critical areas of thought. As a consequence, neither of them appealed to even mainstream conservatives, so they lost. We have family in Las Vegas, all of whom are conservative. They had to hold their noses to vote for Angle. When Sharron was in the Nevada legislature, she did her dead level best not to get along with anyone who didn’t think exactly like she did. Every time she opened her mouth, she managed to stick her foot all the way down to her a$$. These people are what you get when a bunch of amateurs think they know how to pick winners. God bless the Tea Party, but they really screwed up where these two are concerned.
We need only to look in our backyard for reasons why we are where we are at today. These rinos are just as arrogant and decieving as the rats

I long was a big Palin supporter, though she has lost me on illegal immigration.
But to suggest that she is more powerful than Angela Merkel is laughable.
Well done.
