Especially when you consider this: If you recall, the Clintons disappeared to sulk for about five weeks after Hillary withdrew from the race five years ago. They were pissed for a while. Her supporters were furious. Remember "Party Unity My Ass?" At some point though I assume they began to formulate a plan for "Hillary! 2016." I have no doubt that plan included her appointment to State, tying up her last loose ends of gravitas and lack of foreign policy experience. In return, she threw her family name behind the Obamas. And 2008 was a close election. Had she stayed on the sidelines, things might have turned out very differently. I can only imagine what might be going on inside her head if she lost to Michelle.
But I think it's safe to say that Michelle is still a couple of jobs away from a viable White House run. Who knows though? AG in the next Clinton Administration?
