An Oklahoma man captured on video what appears to be the formation of Monday's deadly tornado.
The incredible footage, posted to YouTube, shows a swirling funnel cloud forming over a field near Newcastle, Okla. The man, identified as Charles Cook, shot the cell phone video from a parking lot while sitting in his car.

Like the fist of an angry God
Great video. But the guy who shot it definitely needs to cut back on the caffeine. He kept moving the car for no reason.
the guy that filmed this is a huge idiot
I'm a certified NWS storm spotter. If you see me running.............try to keep up.
You would think there are lot of places he should be angry at rather than Oklahoma.
the features of nature are designed to display to us mere human beings that we are insignificant to the God of Glory. and he loves us and sent his Son to die to redeem us.
That’s what I thought.
With a tornado that size I don’t think one side of the parking lot is going to be any safer then the other.
The possibility of other funnels forming might have something to do with it, turning a circle to scan the sky. He was fairly close.
Just ask the Israelites.
That being said, if Hollywood continues to remain unscathed, someone owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.
You would think there are lot of places he should be angry at rather than Oklahoma.True, but here are ten reasons He might be angry with Oklahoma: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/findCenter.asp?s=OK&p=0&o=1&c=0
That guy has huge brass ones.
This is not Gods work, this is satan punishing Oklahoma for loving God. There were many miracles that day, that was God.
All praise, honor and glory to my Lord.
Actually it’s an atmospheric phenomenon.
I grew up hearing about that color from family members who witnessed the Flint tornado in 1953.
It was an F-5 and killed over 100 people. Lots of people were saved because of their basements.
This one became 2 miles wide at one point ~ and as you can see the guy taking its picture was inside shadow of the rotating cloud above. It was coming down around him.
I wonder how far he was from the funnel? The trees in the picture did not seem to be swaying as much as I would have thought.
I would think he was at least 1/2 mile away.
In 92 a 200mph, 800ft wide wedge beast came through our subdivision. I didn't know what it was at first. I looked out the window at the wedge folded over the house. We were 300ft from the funnel.
It was absolutely terrifying. What is not seen in all these videos is the center rotating funnel. The outer clouds you see in these videos are moving fast and circulating, but that isn't the actual center funnel.
We I first tried to grasp what I was seeing. I looked up and saw a small shoot rotating off the main wedge. Then my eyes glanced down and I saw the main funnel through the outer cloud (where there was breaks in the clouds). The center was perfectly round, filled with debris, almost black.
The speed at which it was spinning was incomprehensible. I have never seen anything so powerful in all my life. Truly a terrifying experience.
All the carping about his behavior amazes me. I’d imagine I wouldn’t have been the finest exemplar of cinematography technique in the world at that precise moment, either. The urge to flee would be powerful. Is driving in circles any less rational than staying in that parking lot, watching that thing roaring closer?
