It doesn’t work like that. It’s more like being abandoned by God because America has abandoned Him. It’s more like the country has shut God out, and God being a gentleman does not go where He is told He is not wanted. I’m afraid of being part of the whole “collateral damage” thing, too. But that’s for a Religion thread, which I generally avoid. When I started reading about how abortion even in Europe is limited to the first trimester, and how the US is up to its elbows in the blood of millions of innocents, I fear the righteous judgement that is coming.
9 yr olds aren’t going to out run a tornado. They are far safer in the school 99.999% of the time. Most of the have shelter areas which are built stronger.
One cannot GO sideways fast enough. If the tornado is coming toward you, there is NO sideways. There is only down in the ground.
There really wasn’t another option, other than building an underground shelter at the school. You don’t want to send anyone out into an EF-4 or EF-5 tornado; the flying debris is deadly. And trying to outrun the storm in your car can be equally dangerous. If the kids had been told to “run for it,” their bodies would have been scattered over a much wider area.

Many homes in Oklahoma have safe rooms built into the garage; steel beams inside cement blocks, anchored into the slab foundation, with a steel door and reinforced roof. If you don’t have a storm cellar, it’s the next best thing.
So it's not possible for God to simply hit Kermit Gosnell in the head with a lightning bolt? (Which I note has not happened) - gotta vaporize a whole town, kill a bunch of kids, etc?
The real message here is about the physics of a shortwave impulse over warm Gulf of Mexico air. The actions, beliefs, even the existence of people in this country or even the country itself are irrelevant and have nothing to do with tornadoes, which assuredly were ravaging Oklahoma before it was settled by humans.
may you and I meet under better circumstances next time.
Heartbreaking.
You from Westboro?
Thank you for saying that.
Please...not the time for politics.
No! Prayers for kiddos and the families! Horrible, just horrible.
So God supports abortion because he thinks children dying is “righteous judgement” for America? Aborted kids are just collateral damage? That’s what it sounds like you saying.
From CBS Houston.
I think I would have evacuated the area entirely if this was what was in the forecast for a second day....
I get what you are saying but on the face of this tragedy, could you just this once give the poster a pass....chalk it up to grief???
well i would hope schools were built with some reinforced areas especially in tornado alley
about all i know about tornadoes is my sister told me she was driving into town one day and all these cars were pulling over and people were headed indoors. she was new to the area and didn’t understand then she looked out her side window and a tornado was coming at her not too far away. she said she peed her pants literally and headed for the nearest building she had seen other people headed for.
