There's one great thing about J.C. Penney's last quarter: It's over.
The struggling retailer lost a whopping $289 million for the three months ended on May 4, with sales plunging 16.4% versus a year prior.

Seems supporting faggotry is very bad for business unless you sell pink tutus or condoms...
It's more than that. These stores are failing because it's a failing business model. I don't know that there's much they can do to change it. I liked the idea of haircuts during back to school sales.
Over the years, when our kids were growing up, we tended to yard sale/thrift shop. However, when we needed new stuff that meant Sears or Penney's. Now that our kids are grown we rarely hit thrift shops so most of our clothes, household goods, and tools - whether they're for us or gifts for our adult children - are purchased new.
But as our grocery habits changed from grocery stores to warehouse clubs like BJ's and Costco, and discount stores like Target and Walmart, we just have no reason to go to Sears or Penneys. Everything is available at those stores at decent enough prices to make an extra trip to a mall seem unnecessary.
We can buy pretty much whatever we need while we're picking up the eggs and milk.
And then there's Kohls, who's kicking Sears and Penneys' behnds. Kohls has an advantage here because (at least by us) they're in strip malls and one floor and have those central registers right at the front. When my daughter needed a suit for her 8 year old son, she was in and out of Kohls with the suit in under five minutes. You could spend that long looking for an open register at Sears or Penneys.
Kohls has been in bed with Planned Parenthood.
We've got Target.
Promoters of homosexual agenda and won't allow Salvation Army bell ringers and kettles on their property and Soros has a large stake in them as well.
I stopped shopping there when they dropped their Cabin Creek line of clothing. The whole gay thing just sealed it - no more shopping at JCPenney for me!
I shop LL Bean and Lehman’s, when possible, else it’s Wal*Mart.

Also, Vermont Country Store.

Lehman’s, Bean’s, and VT Country Store are family-friendly and family-owned.
A tad pricey, yes, but good quality and no lefty agendas that I’ve ever seen or heard about.
There’s the local Ace Hardware and Aubuchon’s franchises that are good, too. Prices are competitive, there, and they sell better quality tools.
And most of the merchandize, if not all, is made in Asia, or Mexico!
Apparently homos don’t by no-name, off the rack clothing. They prefer to shop at trendy, fabulous boutiques. But really, who knew? EVERYONE! Catering to the mentally ill just doesn’t seem to be a viable business model.
Write Sears, they will probably replace them for free....
I hope you didn't buy your boys Sears Toughskins "jeans."
It was like wearing raincoat pants.
At least I'm not bitter, 40 years later ;-)
Yeah, those pictures of those ad’s, drove me away from my traditional buying standard of going to JCP. Those days are over. I wish them well as they all find new jobs and I hope that the crash and burn helps other companies to realize that they need to MARKET with a purpose other than promoting their version of civil unions.
J.C. Penney did get a rare vote of confidence recently from hedge-fund mogul George Soros, who revealed a 7.9% stake in the company last month.
Besides their taking the opposing side in the culture war, helping Soros lose money is enough reason to never buy from JCP.
The truth comes out. George Soros is a homosexual. That would explain his hatred for conservatives and certain politicians here. The ENTIRE agenda of leftist Democrats is advocating homosexuality. THE issue for them is homosexuality. Any discussion of anything else is merely a smokescreen for furthering the homosexual agenda. It's obvious now.
I feel your pain, Amigo.
Another fabulouth quarter.
JCP bet that “gay was the way” and lost. And, still losing.
At one time their Arizona brand of clothing was real quality. Now, who cares?
I bet even gays didn’t flock to Penney’s when they “experimented with gay”
I will be sorry to see JCP go, they were the only main
go to source for my office work clothes. I do not shop
around -— i go in and buy the same brands (Dockers pants, Van heusen Shirts or Arrow) every 5 or 6 months. Colors may change a little on the shirts, but thats about it. JCP would
always have what i needed. I hate shopping. I go early on
a Friday morning when they open and i get out in 30 Min.
I tried other outlets for those brands and they usually dont
carry the breadth of those lines of clothes. I tried Kohls
and NEVER AGAIN because their same brand name line falls apart within 2 or 3 months from purchase. Macys carries some of same brands but not the depth that JCP does.
Maybe Soros should buy majority interest in JCP and try for a turnaround.
Progressive politics IMHO is a symptom of bad management.
