Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice."
"We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate."
Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation's deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation's debt cap.

Mr. Boehner, it is high time that you grow a spine and tell this arrogant pricks where to go.
If you do not, I will see you and your party as willing accomplices to tyranny.
The answer to that question is so that the left can continue to take from the producers in order to bribe identity groups for votes through wealth redistribution. It’s not because the money is truly needed for anything. Agencies are constantly coming up with ludicrous ways to use all of their budgeted funds in order to demand even more money next time with which to bribe identity groups. That’s why poverty is redefined and will never be considered to have been eradicated, that’s why the left is so anxious to bring in new groups of people who will suck off the public teat. The already present groups have reached the point to where “poverty” is defined as not having a cell phone and cable TV. The left is running out of ways to justify new expenditures in the name of “poverty”, so must import new impoverished groups. Also, they enact policies which reward people for poverty-inducing behaviors, such as single “motherhood”. They don’t wantto end poverty, they want to maintain their threadbare excuses for confiscation of wealth from workers in order to expand government and bribe identity groups.
I would not hold my breath waiting for Bonehead and the GOP to draw
a line in the sand.
One does not have to increase spending to pay our debts. One has to decrease spending. He is doing what Democrats do. He is conflating the interest on the debt and ever-increasing spending. One does not necessarily go with the other.
Not raising the debt limit has NO direct one-to-one relationship to whether or not the U.S. pays it’s debt obligations.
In fact, if the federal government wants to keep the U.S. credit rating where it is it is STILL obligated to pay off any debt coming due and any interest payments on debt that is due, whether or not the debt limit is raised.
Keeping the U.S. credit rating up, when revenue is tight, can be solved by cutting expenses more, without any raising of the debt limit.
Lew is not that much of an idiot, but he expects a majority of the public is ignorant of just what can be done to pay our debt obligations WITHOUT any raising of the debt limit.
98% of the American public wants to see a good-faith effort at cutting spending ... now.
The waste is legendary ... so much could be saved ... even before we have that discussion about what the federal government should continue, or not continue, doing
I will go further than that...if it is proved that he oversaw, knew and directed the targeting of people for their religious or political views which subjected them to direct intimidation and abuse by the federal government......
HE SHOULD GO TO JAIL!!
IMHO.....both Geithner & Lew ought to go to jail!!! Geithner & Lew masterminded & directed this abuse of freedom!!! Both are criminals!!!

Let’s be charitable and pray that God gives Speaker Boehner a spine and the courage to stand against Obama and his administration’s historical, indeed evil.....Abuse Of Power,Dereliction of Duty, High Crimes and Misdemeanors..not to mention his incompetence, thuggery, and possible treason to this country.
Whatever this abusive WH is blackmailing and threatening our leaders with...it cannot possibly be worse than the above criminal actions on our entire country!
