If no manufacturers are making these, where will the cops buy their new pistols? Or are they exempt?

Will this be required on revolver firing pins as well?

Not a single weapon should be sold to any California government agency ever again. They should be boycotted by all manufacturers.

I have changed out ALL of the firing pins on 1911s....not particularly difficult at all. If this were to be implemented I’d buy and unmarked replacement for all my pistols. Even for this crappy pushed in transfer-bar safety firing pins on revolvers they have now. For that matter, even most of the real firing pin revolver pins are replaceable.

This is really a dumbass law.

Even if mfg’s make CA only micro-stamped guns, who the hell would buy one. It makes no difference that this technology is easy to defeat, criminals in CA don’t usually use guns registered to them. BTW, we do have mandatory handgun registration here.

If true that mfg’s can’t issue new SA handguns in CA, this will have huge consequences.

Keep in mind that this law has nothing to do with crime. It’s sole purpose is to strip our 2A rights.

Every new California gun should be sold with an emergency replacement pin taped to the stock.

Obama Administration to Sign U.N. Arms Trade Treaty “In the Very Near Future”

Posted on May 17, 2013

As we reported last month, on April 2, the United Nations General Assembly voted 153-4 to pass the Arms Trade Treaty, with the United States voting in favor and several countries abstaining. The vote in the General Assembly pushed the treaty process forward after negotiations twice failed to deliver on the goal of developing the treaty by consensus. The Obama Administration is expected to sign the treaty soon after it is opened for signature on June 3.

According to a May 16 Amnesty International article, a senior US diplomat—Assistant Secretary of State Thomas Countryman—has confirmed the U.S. government will be quick to sign the new treaty. According to the article, Countryman said

Exempt, just as they are exempt from only purchasing guns on the Kalifornia "approved" list, and exempt from the 10 round magazine limit.

Sounds like an incentive to use revolvers, to use brass catchers, or to file the number off the firing pin. It has no law enforcement value, just a frivolous tax to make firearms more expensive.

Microstamping is the cousin to “Ballistic Fingerprinting” - remember that unworkable chimera?

I have a better idea - make the tire companies put the automobile’s Vehicle Identification Number on every tire so the crime scene treads can be traced - same logic.

Actually, what is at work here is “If we can’t ban ‘em, let’s make it so expensive to sell ‘em here, it will work out the same.”

How does that help law enforcement finding a criminal wielding a stolen firearm? Answer it doesn’t

It’s all posturing BS by the phony baloney left!

Stop making the cops exempt. Gun makers needs to start putting pressure on the cops also.
