Thread for the All-star weekend and Charlotte.
Charlotte is a Sunday "night" race.
Thanks for the links. Looks like I need to visit Fox more...
Does everybody know about this website?
(consolidates all the tv racing on one page)
Bend’s annual Pole, Peddle, Paddle is today. They had 800 teams competing last year. Looking at all the skiing, running, biking, sprinting and canoeing involved makes me tired.
I’ve walked out to the mailbox 3 days in a row!!!
The Sprint All Star Race is on. $2,000,000.00 race. No points just money!
The latest update on my new S6 is that it will arrive at the Port of Houston Monday. When I ordered it about 3 months ago it was the last of 5 on the listed production schedule destined for Colorado at the time and the only one that could have the color and options selected.
Last years S6 version had the 5.2L V10 engine based on the Lamborghini V10 and it had more HP at 435, but a narrow peak torque band of 398 lb-ft from 5000 to 6000 RPM. The new V8 twin turbo has 420 HP and is much faster with peak torque of 406 lb-ft from 1400 to 5200 RPM. The 0-60 time is improved from 4.5 sec to 3.7 sec. Imagine the speeding ticket I could get with that! The speed limiter is set at 155, but Audi says it would have a top speed of around 190 without the limiter. If I got a speeding ticket for 190 MPH do you think they would let me frame it for after I got out of jail?
They did a dealer trade for my 2012 Silverado...
I don’t think there were any S6 models for sale in Colorado at the time. I wanted a S5 model, but there were none of them either. I test drove a S4 and A6. I liked the S4, but my wife liked the bigger A6. The salesmans personal car was a S6 so I test drove it. We compromised on the S6 with a long wait to get it. I have seen many dealers in the US charging from $20K to $30K over MSRP for an in-stock S6. Don’t know which of the limited number of options these cars had, but it seems you will pay a premium price for an in-stock car.
It sounds very impressive and I can’t wait to see some photos. Haven’t had the 335i out as the weather has turned crappy this last week. Our local BMW dealer (carries Audi, Porsche & VW too) is very active in the racing world and rents out a track and provides instruction, if you want it, and lets you run with others in your class. It’s apparently very controlled - you’re not racing on another - but you do get to run as fast as you want. Speaking of framing tickets since when did they start printing out tickets the computer in a patrol car instead of hand-writing them? I didn’t think I retired that long ago.
Dang it. B-17 will be at the Bend airport on Tuesday but we will be in Eugene all week.
24 degrees this morning.
Need a laugh for the day...http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3022107/posts
Ya, I read that article. Funny time for cost cutting with the economic recovery and all. Looking fwd to a quiet weekend; raining cats and dogs here in Eugene; Bend has snow showers in the forecast for tonight. Have only planted peas in the garden - no annuals yet.
Windy, rainy and cold today but We’ll be digging potatoes and garlic in another month.
Nascarnation found a nifty site:TV Racer.com
Has mtnclimber's car arrived?
And will the plows have Trail Ridge Road open in time for the Memorial Day weekend:
Great pic, wow....
Last full week of May coming up, and the mountains are white as can be. The runoff should be pretty epic this year... if it stops snowing.
Do they plow snow with a CAT D9?
Al Gore’s fault!
Oh, here is a really cool pic:
Makes sense. You gotta heave that stuff out of the way, too much to plow.
