BELCHERTOWN (CBS) – Shortly after midnight Tuesday, seven people were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir.
State Police say the five men and two women are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates.
One day everyone will realize this... but Boston, 9/11 and all of the other acts of terrorism were not painful enough... and that just tears me up inside. I do not understand it... I comprehend it but I just cannot get inside of that suicidal mind set.

Of course we cannot mention their religious affiliation or the possibility of terorism. Wasn’t the Boston Marathon bombing just a couple of weeks ago?
You know, this would actually be a good place to use those small unmanned vehicles.

MWRA, like all water suppliers, disinfects its water to protect against harmful bacteria (from birds, animals, and even humans) that can enter into reservoirs. MWRA uses ozone to kill any harmful bacteria at the CWTP in Marlborough. Ozone leaves no taste or odor, and in fact improves the natural taste of the water. To protect the water as it travels through the miles of pipe to get to your house, MWRA uses an mild disinfectant called mono-chloramine that has very little taste or odor. Occasionally those with a sensitive palette may find their water has the odor of chlorine. It usually doesn’t last long, and is related to the normal adjustment of the mono-chlorine treatment. This is more likely in the summer when water is warmer. Chilling the water usually eliminates it. I remember an old story I heard about Quabbin, that there were homes that used to be where the water is now, and some people refused to leave and were drowned. Doubt it was true.
This sounds more like a couple of ladies enhancing their income through the provision of services to some young men!
FWIW a little movie trivia. The Quabbin Reservoir was part of the plot line in the movie Dreamcatcher. It was to be contaminated with alien larvae but that failed.
If they were American citizens, not only would they have been arrested, they would also have been detained indefinitely, and without counsel, a hearing or a trial, on the suspicion that they might be involved in terrorism.
