Full Title - "Carney: White House notified of IRS targeting tea party ‘several weeks ago;’ Obama: I found out Friday [VIDEO]"
White House press secretary Jay Carney said in a press conference Tuesday that the White House was notified about the IRS targeting tea party groups “several weeks ago.” This comes a day after President Obama said he found out about it from news reports on Friday of last week.
During a press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday, President Obama was asked about the IRS scandal. He responded, ”I first learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this. I think it was on Friday.”
However, Carney said Tuesday that first a report had to be compiled by the IRS’s inspector general and then when it was completed, it was passed on to the administration.
“A notification is appropriate and routine and that is what happened and that happened several weeks ago,” Carney said.
Carney said the White House will not make a formal statement until a complete IG report is released.
Carney said later in the press conference that although the White House was notified “weeks ago” about the IRS investigaton, neither he nor the president were notified individually.

Notice the phrasing. They were not notified “individually”. Implies:
They could have been notified as a group (i.e. someone comes into a meeting that Carney, Obama and others are in and notifies them)
They could have also been notified separately
The spin requires careful phrasing and this is 100% spin. Bet on it.
Soon the “press corps” will show up wearing hip boots.

Carney had better do a better job of coordinating the lying with the Liar-in-Chief.
There’s many irons in this fire now...and looks like those in control are not going to play the game anymore with this administration...time will tell...but these things cannot come at once, as we’re seeing, unless part of a bigger plan.
Their mistake, of many, was trying to pass the blame to the CIA.
Lesson Learned: Next time appoint a White House Lie Co-ordinator.

Oooo...how bout Carney said “...the White House was notified...”
Maybe someone stood outside and spoke to the building itself. That would also satisfy “truth” (i.e. the White House was notified) without actually being “true” - our interpretation of the message Carney is trying to convey (that the people IN the White House were notified)
I love dissecting spin.
If this is not a lie(if the Obama was genuinely not informed about what was going on his own White-house) this would be a sign of an entirely new level of extreme incompetents upon the part of the Obama Administration.
Will it phase an Obama supporter? Somehow I doubt it your advrage Obama supporter is either doesn’t care about anything at all or chooses to live so deep under a rock the world could catch on fire and they wouldn’t know it.
Nothing phases this guy, because his base either doesn’t know or doesn’t care about anything.
