Just months after being slimed by President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, Mitt Romney supporter and businessman Frank VanderSloot was informed that he was going to be audited not only by the Internal Revenue Service, but by the Labor Department as well.
VanderSloot’s saga was told by columnist Kimberley Strassel in the Wall Street Journal last July.
In April 2012, VanderSloot, who served as the national co-chair of Mitt Romney’s presidential finance committee, was one of eight Romney backers to be defamed as ”wealthy individuals with less-than-reputable records” in a post on the Obama campaign’s website. The post, entitled “Behind the curtain: a brief history of Romney’s donors,” singled out VanderSloot for being a ”litigious, combative and a bitter foe of the gay rights movement.”
Two months later, the IRS informed VanderSloot he and his wife were going to be audited, Strassel reported. Two weeks after that, VanderSloot was notified by the Labor Department that it was going to “audit workers he employs on his Idaho-based cattle ranch under the federal visa program for temporary agriculture workers,” reported Strassel.
“The H-2A program allows tens of thousands of temporary workers in the U.S.; Mr. VanderSloot employs precisely three,” Strassel wrote.....

Nixon was a piker. The biggest problem with Obama is his army of liberal drone ensconced throughout the government who will do what they perceive is his bidding without prompting. There are probably hundreds of IRS agents and supervisors fishing for conservatives to audit. There is of course a complex computer program to provide deniability, but the inputs can be manipulated or data can be cherry picked. I would count on having more government persecution of conservatives and conservative groups and Obama will skate.

He has used the ATF to supply guns to Mexico, ICE has been told not to do their job. The Border Patrol has been told to back off, He is using the EPA to kill small business and Coal. He is using Agriculture to thin our gasoline out with ethanol.
It appears that every Department in our Government has been infiltrated by Obama Voters with the knives out to destroy us.
Meantime our Congress is sitting there trying to steal our guns and burden us with a Health Care Bill that is disastrous.
This man is running the most corrupt Government in history to destroy us Domestically and then supplying Muslim with money and weapons to destroy our foreign power.
I have lost all faith in our elected politicians. They HAVE to be able to see this and yet they let it happen.

In answer to your question about how long can this go on, from my perspective, it has gone on for far too long.
Like the Clinton’s before them, this Administration sees the departments of the Executive Branch as tools for their selective use. For the Clintons, it was the FBI files with all of the unredacted gossip and inuendo. It gave them the same power as Hoover’s legendary use and abuse. A nudge, a wink and suddenly the person targeted sees the light of day.
Here comes ‘low level’ IRS employees seeking improper and even illegal information. As the 800 pound gorrila in the government, one never knows if the threats are real or just thuggish coercion.
Of course, unlike Nixon, the compliant MSM has to have a sledge hammer to even notice this. Maybe this is it, but I have my doubts.
A documented case of the irs being used to harass people. The irs has the power to destroy. It is a police force minus the weapons.

Indeed. We’re only scratching the surface of this scandal, folks—just wait until we find out conservative radio talk show hosts have been audited for specious reasons in 2011 and 2012 for 2010 and 2011 returns by the IRS.

Sending the IRS AND the Labor Dept after him... Why was this not a bigger issue? There are other Departments. I wonder if any other have harassed groups or people in a discriminatory manner? Would anyone be shocked if Medicare went looking for fraud in Catholic hospitals, or the EPA went after conservative businessmen? I wonder if this story is so much bigger than we know?
