1. Tebow represents an ideal, a high moral standard that the NFL does not want to promote.
2. He's an outspoken, unapologetic Christian who simply does not fit in what the media want to push. See Jason Collins.
3. He's unorthodox. He doesn't fit the mold of what prototypical pocket passer. And the conventional '3 year rule' for QBs in the NFL has been thrown out the window for him. There are worse, FAR worse QBs in the league who floated from team to team. See Brady Quinn.
4. The NFL has become a side show, bordering on WWE type entertainment. Its the most popular sport in this country. And its become a shadow of itself with all the criminals and asinine rules, statements, etc. from Roger Goodell.
Wow. Impressive, indeed.
They certainly do not look for high morals in their players. Some are no better than thugs. And thank you for your reply.
I don't know why Tebow has been marginalized. He is not a great qback, but few are these days. And it seems the modern qualifications for a qback require that he be able to run as well as pass.
If it was because he caused “distractions” I feel that is a bunch of hooey. As already stated on this thread..there are a lot of players that cause distractions and nobody seems to care.
I am forced to believe it has to do with his Christianity. And that is very sad, imho.
To me, the question was never about why the Jets have dealt with Tebow the way they have since they signed him. My real question is why they ever signed him in the first place.
I wondered why they signed him as well. The team didn’t seem to be a good for him at all.
I read some where that the owner wanted him and Ryan got all twisted about it.
Also, from what I read..had they released Tebow before the draft and free agency he might have found a team. It makes it sound like a huge conspiracy. I don’t know if I believe that. Sounds a little far fetched.
Whatever the reasons..maybe can play in the Canadian league.
Sorry, but “payback” isn’t discipline .. no matter how you slice it.
