I have a 1970 SP1 also!!! My dad gave it to me when he passed. It has less than maybe 200 rounds through it. That 6920 is a fine carbine. I also have Black Rifle Disease.

The fact that it fires .22LR currently negates all problems with the other features, which apply only to centerfire cartridges, not rimfire. Look for the gun-haters to remedy this 'loophole/problem'.

Smith & Wesson has been selling their version (the M&P 15-22) since long before Newtown.

Sounds like it is just a 22LR version of an AR. There are already a variety of conversion kits for ARs.

I'm not in the market for a new 22LR but might just buy one to support Stag and symbolically tell Malloy to take a hike.

Mine is exactly the same as the one I trained with in the Air Force in 1968, except for the select fire switch.

Yep, we gotta get rid of those deadly flash hiders and pistol grips, thousands of kids are no doubt killed every year by those evil devices.

The gun grabbers have learned very well how to take advantage of the ignorance of the average American who knows about as much about firearms as I know about the dark side of the moon. When I got my 1st shotgun in 1949 for my 12th birthday I already knew more about guns than the average American adult does today.

Today there is no technical barrier to making rimfire cartridges in virtually any configuration. Since most of the new state laws exempt rimfires, I suspect that it is only a matter of time until someone begins marketing major-caliber rimfire cartridges and guns to shoot them.

You are free to spend your dollars as you please. My next purchase will be another LaRue Tactical OBR. Mark refuses to sell anything to LE, State agencies or police in any state that has passed Unconstitutional laws that violate the Second Amendment. Now that is a stance that I can support.

We have the exact same firearm. I have seen some in fair condition go for as high as $2800.00 on GunBroker.com. I have seen mint rifles sell for more. I wouldn't part with mine for twice that. Congrats on a great rifle and collectors delight.

Which raises a good point: every encroachment they come up with is based on some technicality we work around and turn into a desirable product.
