The Legislatures attempt to craft an entertainment tax in 2003 read a little bit like the childrens story of the hen who couldnt persuade her barnyard animal friends to help her gather and grow grain for the winter.
Lawmakers then considered a proposal by the Nevada Taxpayers Association to tax admissions to nearly every form of entertainment and recreation.
But when it came time to write the bill, a common refrain was sounded by many targeted for the tax.
Not I! said the movie theaters.
Not I! said the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Not I! said the baseball parks, bowling alleys, golf courses, hula dancers and strip clubs

Sure! Tax everything! Tax tax tax! Hell, lets tax air! Lets tax sleep! Lets tax TAXES!* Its a wonder anybody has a cent left. Yet with all these taxes the government still cannot stay within its already massive budget.

This is really becoming a major concern. The people we elected to represent us and MANAGE the government have, instead, gone on a major spending spree that we didn’t want.
Now, because of their recklessness and indiscriminate spending, they have put our nation and most states on the brink of insolvency. And they want us to pay for their irresponsible behavior.
I say boot’em all out (IF they avoid prison) and elect people who know whose money they are spending and have more respect for our hard work and the money we earn. Irresponsible behavior should NOT be rewarded with more money for them to fritter away on more foolishness! It’s past time for this crap to end.

Why don’t we just have a SIN TAX ?
The entire US debt could be paid off rather quickly.

Now, as the state climbs its way out of a recession that depleted funding for education and other services, Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick has a message for the naysayers: You gotta pay the tax. I didn't see any options for any spending CUTS, just tax increases, so somehow I just knew Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick would be a Democrat.

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman
If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

There should be a democrat tax. If a democrat is voting for socialism, then let the dumb bastard pay for it.

Tax casino wagers.Twenty percent is a good figure. It would do wonders for the Nevada economy.
They already tax casino profits. 6.75% of the take goes to the state.
Taxing wagers would render casinos unprofitable, so would entirely kill this ample tax revenue stream, which would surely not “do wonders” for the Nevada economy.
