New York City could soon become the first major city in the country to give non-citizens the right to vote. The proposal, which would allow certain non-citizens to vote in local elections, appears to have a veto-proof majority in the New York City Councilenough to overcome opposition by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. As hearings on the proposal get underway Thursday, supporters are optimistic it will become law by the end of the year and believe it will have an impact beyond the five boroughs.
Its going to be huge and just imagine the implications that are involved here, Councilman Daniel Dromm, one of the co-sponsors of the legislation along with Councilwoman Gale Brewer, told TPM Wednesday.
Currently, citizenship is a requirement for voters throughout New York state. This legislation, Voting By Non-Citizen Residents, would allow immigrants who are lawfully present in the United States and have lived in New York for six months or longer on the date of a given election to vote provided they meet all the other current requirements for voter registration in New York State. This means they must not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction and not be declared mentally incompetent by a court. For their first time voting, they must also provide identification including; copy of a valid photo ID, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or some other government document that shows your name or address. Identification requirements would not remain after their initial vote. The bill only affects local races and calls for the registration forms provided to these municipal voters to specify that they are not qualified to vote in state or federal elections.
This is extremely important, because its based on the founding principle of this country and that was, No Taxation Without Representation.(continued)

Now what could go wrong there?
Good GOD Almightly, this country is finished.
We are witnessing the rise and consolidation of dreadful oppressors who now seem to be even too lazy to go out and actually work for a “reasoned” vote based on principles, identity, sense of community, love of country, etc.
We are inundated with tyrannical evil poltergeists that wear the human husks of so-called humans who pander at the very lowest levels of third world shithole wants and needs.
What a carefully, intelligently conceived idea.
It would make perfect sense, continuing this logic, to allow people’s pets to vote.
Some Non-Citizens should run for city council. Then when they win they can make it illegal for citizens to vote!
***...enough to overcome opposition by Mayor Michael Bloomberg***
I’m a little surprised, but even Bloomie knows this is bad. I think history will show this to be a major step toward the U.S. bowing to the UN and/or NWO rulers.
Because of this, I so look forward to voting! I’m just not sure which of my social security numbers to use, when proving myself eligible...
Our Republic’s worst nightmare is coming true. Meanwhile, Democrats are standing on the railroad platform en masse shouting and waving goodbye to Polyanna as she boards that train to “go get healed.” They PROMISE the cure, and the Media assures it.
He probably only objects to the requirement that they have ID the first time they vote.
It's amazing the way stereotypes have a way of validating themselves...
THis will mean that the city has to decide who is in the country legally..something the federal govt can’t seem to do.
Aren’t you all glad you don’t live in NYC?!
Do people in countries all around the world get to vote in our elections, or just the ones that aphsyically here that aren't supposed to be?
^ * are physically *
New York City really hasn't been part of the United States in decades, so I could make the case that anyone voting there today isn't a U.S. citizen anyway.
So, what is the advantage of being a citizen? We have to pay taxes and obey the law while immigrants and illegal aliens get to vote, drive, hold a job, get free money, etc.
Children, cats, and dogs are also affected by laws. They should be given the right to vote too.
