As readers have probably noticed, Im on something of a campaign the last few days to train a spotlight on the revolutionary rhetoric and gun-brandishing of many Second Amendment activists and constitutional conservatives, which has leeched over into standard conservative and GOP messaging to an alarming degree. Like anyone shining a spotlight into previously dark shadows, Im not always familiar with what Im seeing. Thats definitely the case with Adam Kokesh, an Iraq War vet and omni-libertarian who is planning a non-violent march of armed citizens on Washington for Independence Day to show, best I can tell, that resistance to the demands of people like him that government radically retract its size and scope will eventually face real fire. Heres Paul Szoldras write-up of Kokeshs scheme at Business Insider:
Adam Kokesh, 31, is planning a July 4 rally of pro-gun activists openly carrying rifles from Virginia to Washington as an act of civil disobedience. The plan, according to his Facebook event page, is to march across Memorial Bridge with rifles loaded and slung across the back to put the government on notice that we will not be intimidated [and] cower in submission to tyranny.
The invite continues, stating, This will be a non-violent event, unless the government chooses to make it violent.
Kokesh writes that if 10,000 attendees RSVP by June 1st, we have the critical mass necessary to pull this off. He said he wants to have at least 1,000 actually marching in the event, and as of this writing, more than 1,400 have said they were going.
As the headline at Karolis post on this plan at Crooks & Liars rightly says: Marching On DC With Loaded Rifles: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?(continued)

Adam Kokesh, the long lost bastard son of John Murtha and Jane Fonda.
Huh?
You'll definitely get on a watch list or two.
I liked the story of the gentleman in Phoenix who legally open carried a six-shooter down by the city hall on a regular basis.
No laws broken or challenged. Just someone exercising his rights to the full extent of the law.
I dont care how noble the cause or how brilliant the planned action is, Im not going to follow some commie kook who masquerades as a Republican and lies about his military service to get elected.
Inhofe: Obama administration trying to dry up ammo supply [AUDIO]
On Aaron Kleins weekend show on New York Citys WABC radio, Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe accused the Obama administration of buying up ammunition at an unprecedented level to bypass the Second Amendment so gun-owners cant even buy ammunition because government is purchasing so much.
Lets make sure that your audience out there is aware, Aaron, that our president, Obama, has been doing everything he could to stop the private ownership of guns in America, Inhofe said. You know that, everyone knows that. And yet hes been voted down in a big way by a large majority. And so my feeling is that hes doing this to buy up [ammunition] so that we cant buy: Honest, law-abiding citizens here in the United States, like my son, cant even buy ammunition because government is purchasing so much.
Inhofe explained to Klein he is working to introduce the Ammunition Management for More Obtainability (AMMO) bill that will limit non-defense, armed federal agencies to pre-Obama levels of ammunition.
Its designed to have the GAO (thats the Government Accounting Office) inventory not the Defense Department, but all other departments that use weaponry as to what theyre doing in terms of the amount of ammunition that they have bought to dry up the market for honest, law-abiding citizens, Inhofe said.
The Oklahoma Republican called the buy-ups intentional and referred to testimony last month from Nick Nayak, the Department of Homeland Securitys chief procurement officer, who said DHS has the right to buy up the ammunition.
I believe its intentional, Inhofe said. Now we had someone testify the other day the DHS, the Department of Homeland Security, has the right this is a bureaucrat that said this they have the right to buy as much as they want, and theyre planning to buy 750 million rounds. Well, that is more than three times the amount that our soldiers are using for training to defend our nation. So, its just another effort to restrict gun activity and ownership. We have in this country the Second Amendment, that preserves the right to keep and bear arms, and the president doesnt believe in that.
Inhofe was skeptical of theory that the ammo buy-up was an effort by DHS to seize power from the state, as some have suggested, but did say it was unprecedented and shouldnt be allowed.
This has never happened in this country before, he added. Weve never had government trying to take that much control at the expense of the law-abiding citizens. And were not going to let it happen.

Ways to block exercising the 2nd Amendment
How do you get around the 2nd Amendment if you can’t get the desired restrictions
through Congress right now, why just get all the ammunition manufacturers to
contract and delivery commitments that will greatly reduce the availability to
the public! If you want to attempt to do this under the radar and public scrutiny, use
almost very small numbers in your survey of ammunition manufactures. Remember,
DHS has already locked these manufacturers into delivering 1,600,000,000
rounds to our domestic security organization! ......What, are they expecting
armed riots? Initially it appears that if you can’t get ammunition, you can’t shoot
a gun and therefore your ability to exercise the 2nd Amendment is a moot point!
By the way, when and if ammunition manufactures enter into any agreement, they
are then bound by a higher entity than Cabela’s, Dick’s, CheaperThanDirt, or
Walmart to deliver ammunition, therefore blocking the most important part of these
weapons.
Many think the great increase in sales of weapons has caused the shortage and
that soon ammunition will be again plentiful. That might be true, if it weren’t that many
entrepreneurs seeking to get into ammunition manufacturing by buying the needed
equipment from China to make the rounds, has been blocked, and you guessed it,
our own government!
Another interesting aspect of the apparent government effort to use backdoor
tactics to control arms within within the US, was taken by the government controlled
lackey, General Electric (Financial Services) to refuse loans to very qualified arms
dealers for the purpose of expansion of their businesses, or the purchase of more
stock (they certainly can’t use the excuse that the market is soft!). Jeffrey R. Immelt,
the chairman and chief executive of General Electric Co. was tapped by
President Barack Obama as his next top outside economic adviser.
DHS Seeks Millions More Rounds of Ammunition
Market survey asks companies if they can provide 2 million bullets within
30-60 day period
Infowars.com
May 3, 2013
The Department of Homeland Security has released a market survey asking
companies if they are able to provide 2 million rounds of ammunition within
a short time period, increasing concerns that the federal agency is continuing
its arms build up in preparation for domestic unrest.
With the DHS already having committed to purchasing over 1.6 billion bullets
over the course of the last year, a request for information on reduced hazard
training ammunition posted on the FedBizOpps website quizzes bullet
manufacturers on how fast they can supply large quantities of ammo;
- Are you capable of producing large quantity orders of any training caliber
specified with a short turnaround time of 30-60 days?
- What would your lead time be for an order of 2 million rounds of a single
type listed above?
- If you were awarded a contract for some of the calibers listed above,
submitted a production lot of one million rounds and that lot or portion of
the lot was not accepted, would you be able to replace that order with an
additional one million rounds within 60 days?
The DHSs apparent urge to find companies that can supply them with millions
of rounds of ammunition within a short time frame will do little to calm concerns
that the federal agency is making contingency plans for riots or some form of
social dislocation.
The federal agencys need to find companies that can commit to manufacturing
large quantities of bullets quickly also lends credence to claims made by a
firearms manufacturer who called into the Michael Savage show in March that
the DHS is trying to exhaust ammunition supplies as part of an end run around
the Second Amendment.
Ammunition is becoming increasingly scarce, with gun stores across the nation
forced to resort to bullet rationing in an attempt to satisfy as many customers as
they can, while some police departments are having to barter between
themselves to meet demand.
The market survey also indicates that the DHS is interested in purchasing
ammunition that will safely fragment when fired against an armor steel plate,
which will only serve to stoke fears that the feds are gearing up to use the
ammunition in an offensive manner.
Despite official denials backed up by unquestioning media reports that the DHS
is buying an abnormal amount of bullets, the Government Accountability Office
announced earlier this week that an investigation of the purchases is just getting
underway.
What does that incredibly long cut&paste have to do with the con-artist Adam Kokesh and his “armed march” on D.C.?
Agent provocateur of the obamugabe regime.
Yep.
Yes, agent provacateur.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.
The dirty little secret IS...................
EVEERYBODY KNOWS by now..............
It’s going to come to WAR, civil or otherwise. When and how is still up for grabs.
both publically and privately, Conservatives and legitimate gun owners need to distance themselves far from this. And thank you annd Race for exposing this individual. This may or may not be a potential a “ReichStagg Fire” incident. Knowing the number of Leftist, anarchists[sp?] , and Occupy Wall Streeters in the Nation, I have no doube that he will be able to get the numbers he seeks. I also have no doubt that the main stream media will portray them to be Tea Party members, NRA members, Republicans. Christians, and last but not least, legitimate gun owners. And knowing the OWS,Anarcgists[sp?], and Leftists history of violence with the police, I have no doube that there will be conflict and violence between mhem and the police. In closing, this is a trap, don’t fall into it.
Don’t forget John Kerry. Theh had a threesom that night.
In regard to the ammo: just because the Feral Gummint is buying it doesn’t mean they will be the ones to shoot it. I suspect when the SHTF that the FIRST thing to go missing will be all this ammo.
I do believe that this is going to go well, for the Conservative, for the 2A, for the nation. This is something that smells of a perfect Obama-manufactured crisis.
Liberty-loving boys and girls, do NOT attach your name, or any personal action to this, please.
There’s a time and a place, even for the correct spark to let fly, but this guy ain’t it.
Armed civilians, even a small bunch as this Kokesh fellow desires, openly declaring that they are going to march across Arlington Bridge?
To enter a declared state-free district, which is very much gun-control territory, U.S. Capitol not withstanding, from another state, in reality transporting firearms acros state lines, actually brandishing long arms, but stating ‘non-violence’?
I extend no support, no blessings, and no other words, but STOP!
I do NOT think “Reichstag Fire” is close!
Maybe the firing the cannon of The Potemkin is what this guy is wanting.
No doubt about it! Yuck, and that was just for starters. They didn’t call her twenty-time Jane for nothing. Commie sex, it’s all about the collective.
Adam Kokesh and David Koresh. Coincidence?
I have an e-mail addy for Ed kilgore, just spoke with someone from that mag, they need to be set straight!
