The laptop would always have attracted the attention of investigators, but the fact that the Tsarnaevs discarded it makes it a lot more interesting. ... Throwing away a working laptop is a rather extreme act for a college student presumably living on a limited budget, and that means Dzhokhar had something on there he really needed to hide.

Joker didn't throw it away. He left it in his dorm room, along with other incriminating evidence. All he did was to invite the current defendants to take whatever they wanted from his dorm room, since he wasn't going to be coming back (this was via text message around 8 pm on Thursday). See Special Agent Scott Cieplik's affidavit. The defendants decided on their own to dispose of the evidence on the theory it might help their friend.

My guess is the brothers thought they had got away with the bombings and were taken by surprise when the FBI released their video analysis, and people (such as Speed Bump's wife and the current defendants) started recognizing them. That's why their attempt to flee was so haphazard and poorly planned.

Why would any decent gal with more than two brain cells go blabbing to the world she had a two week fling a year ago with a murdering terrorist? Her parents must be so proud.

Why have we not been told who his room mate is? If the three friends under arrest were able to put two and two together and figure out what to dispose of, how could his roommate not be in on it? And why would they all hang out watching movies? And then how the heck could Phillipos be so laid back and relaxed about it that he was able to take a nap????
