PC Amok: A congressman asks why emails describe supporters of traditional marriage as members of hate groups while the Pentagon vets a religious tolerance guide with a group that compares Christian evangelism to "rape."
When Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel recently appeared before Congress, he was grilled by Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., about an email sent by an officer at Fort Campbell, Ky., to three dozen subordinates, warning them to be on the lookout for soldiers connected with "domestic hate groups."
Among the groups listed in the 14-page email by Lt. Col. Frank Rich, the Second Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment Commander at Fort Campbell, were Christian organizations such as the American Family Association and Family Research Council (FRC), immigration reform groups such as the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), and Atlas Shrugs, run by Pamela Geller and monitoring global jihadist activity.
Officers are advised to look for uniformed members of these groups, described as anti-gay, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim.
The email listed the groups alongside actual extremist and hate groups such as neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan and other supremacist gangs.
The list of "hate" groups in the email appears to be based on one compiled by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Ironically, it was used by one Floyd Corkins, who, on Aug. 15, 2012, tried to go on a mass-shooting spree at FRC headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Geller, of Atlas Shrugs, told Fox News that the Army's email was a smear and intellectually dishonest. Her group, she says, is anti-jihad and anti-Shariah.
"I don't promote hate," she said. "I expose hate speech. The purpose of Atlas Shrugs is to report under-reported stories on daily acts of jihad across the world."

So, they should remain in, and face official persecution and harassment?
That’s what they want...”Christian” soldiers would never follow an “illegal” order to open fire on their fellow countrymen. Not so sure about soldiers with no belief system.
I understand that, but recent trends are showing Christians and their families are going to be targeted for harassment none of them deserve. If my kid were considering joining the military, I'd do everything possible to discourage it.
For a few with a special grace, being bold in witness, and inviting court martial might be the best thing in the long run.
When the Church is persecuted, it grows.
Court martial a few outspoken Christians in the military, and you just might see genuine revival in the ranks.

Should be made an example of and booted from military service for violating the religious liberty of U.S. soldiers. It needs to be a matter of law that the “Southern Poverty....etc.” is NOT a government body and will NEVER be used by members of the Federal government or military to label someone as “extreme or terrorist.” It should be a court-martial offense to do so.
Folks we MUST stop this paganization of the military by militant atheists. I do feel any person in authority should not abuse his/her position to force a Non-Christian or Christian, etc. worldview on others...but is a far as it should go. Belier or unbelief is a personnal choice and one cannot force it on another...but to share their unbelief or belief is NOT wrong. It is the marketplace of thought important to American life.
same here and not one vet I know wants anyone to serve today after how this Govt has dealt with Libya, and the wars plus their PC crap.
It seems only the officers and a few who are still in care about getting their promotion and it’s all about them not the country but then again wen some join for the freebies then it doesn;t surprise me.
I know after seeing the guy around the corner join the national guard to get his freebies and then wear the uniform getting thank you for your service and getting free meals while the only place he;s been is FT Benning then I only say thank you now when I get to know who they are , what unit and what they serve.
This guy thinks it’s funny he wears the uniform and gets his handouts and thank you but not off me now

or the Navy talking about social justice, helping those who cannot help themselves around the world and how they are against discrimination.
Makes me want to be sick. I just cannot let my boys join knowing the military has changed to a aid unit , full of PC and social justice while a Govt cares little and a man in charge went to bed as Seals were under attack fighting for their lives , waiting to direct help to them which never came because someone gave a stand down order and the CIC went to bed ready for Vegas the next day
