Even if it was next door, so long as the order doesn't say "do not drink BEER" I am good.
The dirty little secret is these settings mean little or nothing. The chemical soup municipalities offer as drinking water is toxic. In our city they advise it not be given to pets and, of course, we all know it is toxic to fish. Chlorine and ammonia are toxic substances, in any concentration.

I’ve fished Carter’s Lake...didn’t catch a dang thing...like most of my fishing trips.
Ping to “Don’t drink the water” thread. People buying up all the bottled water - guess they didn’t have any stored.
Someone messed with the water plant.

It is potable water.

ROP again.
Heck here in Tampa a squirrel chewed on a cable and water to 600,000 people was cut. Water supplies are not all that dependable.
I used to live in Columbus, GA. The tap water looked like pee with bugs in it.
Maybe they will take this opportunity to blame the anti-fluoride people, you know those people who eat apple pie, play baseball, sing Yankee doodle dandy and have last names of Mohammed...
To become fully effective, some external plumbing must be added to let the water sit in the bucket to cover the sand and keep it wet. Then, it must be used daily for at least two weeks or so.
Complete instructions can be found at the CAWST.org website. Look for "BSF Construction Manual (Complete) 2012 [ENG]".
One thing to note is that at first, this only filters out some contaminates. You will still have to treat the water that is filtered for pathogens for the first couple of weeks of use. However, after it has been used for a while, a layer of organic material builds up in the top inch or so of the sand, and it will eventually get to the point that it will filter pathogens out of the water.
But it has to be used daily for a couple of weeks to get to this point.
Tibia reminds me I’m overdue to dump and refill my two polypropylene barrels of emergency water. I should squeeze that in tomorrow, I’ll be at the house.
Imagine a 100,000 muslim jihadi H-1B visas working in power plants, fertilizer factories, refineries, chemical manufacturers, hospitals, utilities, dams, pharmaceutical formulators, web hub server farms, municipal water supplies, sewage treatment plants...
Is there a mosque nearby?
Yeah, I know, it’s a shame I should even have to ask that.
Hopefully, the perp won’t turn out to be “Bosnian” or “Pakistani” or some such.
Thank goodness I have some water stored.
West of Chatworth, Georgia, a small town in the northwest part of the state, Georgia 225 leaves the main highway and heads south. Shortly after dipping to a stream the road rises and a dramatic brick house appears as if out of nowhere. The house has a commanding view of all land around it and a stunning view of the Cohutta Mountains, less than 10 miles to the east. This brick home is the oldest remaining structure in the northern third of the state of Georgia and its owners were leaders of the Cherokee Nation. This is near the Cherokee Capital of New Echota. |
Communist plot to contaminate our precious bodily fluids...
Seriously though, I hope this gets fixed soon for the locals there.
Not in our area but we filter every drop we use from the faucet through our Big Berkey water filter. Its awesome.
