Start with people who have individual and small-group health insurance. These policies are most affected by ObamaCare's community-rating regulations, which require insurers to accept everyone but limit or ban them from varying premiums based on age or health. The law also mandates "essential" benefits that are far more generous than those currently offered.
According to consultants from Oliver Wyman (who wrote on the issue in the January issue of Contingencies, the magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries), around six million of the 19 million people with individual health policies are going to have to pay moreand this even after accounting for the government subsidies offered under the law. For example, single adults age 21-29 earning 300% to 400% of the federal poverty level will be hit with an increase of 46% even after premium assistance from tax credits.
Determining the number of individuals who will be harmed by changes to the small-group insurance market is harder. According to the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, conducted by the Department of Health and Human Services, around 30 million Americans work in firms with fewer than 50 employees, and so are potentially affected by the small-group "reforms" imposed by ObamaCare.

I suggest all Conservatives make it a point to say, "That's ObamaCare" whenever anyone makes any kind of complaint about medical care.
"There was a line at the pharamacy today."
"That's ObamaCare for you."
"The store was out of Claritin."
"That's ObamaCare for you."
"My premiums went up 46%."
"That's ObamaCare for you."
Anyone who didn’t know that the Demonic Party and the a$$ clown’s Commiecare wasn’t going to be an unmitigated disaster resulting in the destruction of our healthcare system and economy, should have to pay for their oxygen... preferably at a cost higher than they can afford. Who knows, maybe that’s in there...
I have heard it reported that another gem of Obamacare is a mandatory biometric implant that nobody wants to talk about.
This chip implant was supposedly to be in place by 2013, but has been deadlined now at 2017.
I agree.
In fact, when I fly and there’s a bunch of us suckers in the TSA line, I’ll make eye contact with someone and say “Gee, just think, obamacare will make visiting a doctor like this”. I usually get an agreeable nod.
But shall this be enough to move the needle on those folks who are “stuck on stupid”?
There was an almost religious fervor among those whom had the greatest stake in encouraging and preparing the passage of this huge and badly mis-named atrocity known as the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2011”, a thinly disguised tax bill that was NOT originated in the House of Representatives. The agenda behind this conglomeration of socialist wish lists and punishments is the total revocation of individual rights and responsibilities. The unsustainable mandates placed upon states that are already staggering under their own falling revenues and rising demands upon their services guarantees the widespread refusal to comply, and the growing privation of those most in need of medical services is further exacerbated.
That’s Obamacare. Like the Hillarycare bill of 1994, it was based in unreal conceptions about how and why people do or should seek medical services. But in 1994, there was enough residual native good sense to see the probable outcome of its application.
A lesson that is apparently yet to be learned by sufficient numbers of power brokers in today’s climate.
Give us Obama!
Just so you know, it did originate in the House. It started life as a bill addressing military housing taxes. It was gutted in the Senate to become a shell bill, which they then “amended” to the bloated monster we have today. Somewhere I have a timeline that shows the whole process, and I think I may have posted about the bill’s provenance here before somewhere.
Yes, this IS disconcerting, but can’t we all just celebrate today the news that Jason Collins is a sodomite?
Indeed, hang ‘em with it.
“I bet those who supported 0bamacare are still expecting free medical care on demand, don’t ya think?”
