The U.S. government had the ability to react and respond to the Benghazi terrorist attack and could have had forces on the ground before the second wave of the assault began, a special operator with knowledge of the response told Fox News in an exclusive interview. Due to the explosive nature of his allegations, the special ops member asked to remain anonymous.
I know for a fact that C 110 the UComm CIF was doing a training exercise, not in the region of northern Africa, but in Europe. And they had the ability to react and respond, he told Fox News.
The C 110 is a 40-man Special Ops force capable of rapid response and deployment, a group trained specifically for an event like the Benghazi attack, Fox News reports. The unit was training in Croatia on Sept. 11, 2012, just 3.5 hours away from Benghazi.
They would have been there before the second attack, the anonymous special operator said. They would have been there at a minimum to provide a quick reaction force that could facilitate their exfil out of the problem situation.
He continued: Nobody knew how it was going to develop, and you hear a whole bunch of people and a whole bunch of advisors say, Hey, we wouldnt have sent them there because the security was unknown situation. If its an unknown situation, at a minimum you send forces there to facilitate the exfil or medical injuries. We could have sent a C 130 to Benghazi to provide medical evacuation for the injured.
The special operator said there are members of special ops and other officials who are still active and involved in the situation. They would be decapitated if they came forward with information that could affect high-level commanders, he added.
While he says he doesnt blame them for not coming forward, the special operator said members of the community feel betrayed and believe the betrayal goes all the way to the top. Further, the Special Ops community feels like the Americans in Benghazi were left to fend for themselves.
The White House has said from the beginning that there were no forces available to assist Americans in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Whatever happened to "our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor"?
(excerpt) Panetta said there was no "real-time information" to be able to act on, even though the U.S. military was prepared to do so.
"You don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on," Panetta said. "(We) felt we could not put forces at risk in that situation."
A defense official provided more context on Panetta's comments about the decision-making involved in not sending U.S. troops to the consulate being attacked in Benghazi.
He said there was a drone aloft but not directly over the area at the time the attack began.
He said the drone was redirected and arrived in time to record some of the attack. But he described what the drone saw as "looking down, seeing a bunch of buildings and fires, a lot of chaos on the ground."
..... Please tell me this isn't what Trey Gowdy was referring to when he said he had "Explosive" new testimony to be revealed in his upcoming hearings. This isn't new info .... we knew about the availability of specialty response teams since day one!
It would be much more promising if at least one of the media darlings would cover this story.
Thanks E.. I have checked out the available videos on FNC, as they became available.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Welcome to Free Republic.
they also said it was a video that caused the whole thing..
So, why should we believe you rather than the ones you disagree with? What qualifications do you have other than your opinion?
The General who needs to be fired is Dempsey. As John McCain said to Dempsey during the Benghazi hearings (in one of his increasingly rare moments of sanity), the General’s testimony was “bizarre” and “simply false”.
Wow. Do you have a link?
Welcome to FR.
anyone who has served in a combat unit and understand show the QRF works knows that they could have had helped but instead this happened
Obama was told of attack
he talks to his security advisor for less than one minute
he then heads to bed and to sleep
At that time someone gave a stand down order
Next day talking points were put out to the lapdog media while oabma flew to Vegas .
That in itself is grounds of impeachment and th eleft knows this damn well.
This is not news, hell this should be commons sense to most and for the GOP to not have gone full frontal assault on this and to have gone to stop oabma about this and attack the media was one of the most disgusting acts by the GOP.
Still the media will not report this
There is no way to know beforehand how long an attack will last so your argument is completely bogus. I am glad you are retired.

If enough stepped forward, the bad guys couldn’t touch them. But it takes one brave man to start.
There is bravery in combat. There is bravery in standing up and losing your pension and your career. It is easier to be brave in combat.
There is no reason to believe that anyone’s screen name is an accurate representation of what that person has done in real life. I have no basis to believe that this person is a retired colonel, or if he is that he was in the US military or if he was that he retired honorably. He did sign up two weeks ago and is telling us not to second guess the Obama administration.
TY.
