A Battered Dream, Then a Violent Path (Did Tamerlan go nuts because he was barred from boxing?)
New York Times ^ | 04/27/2013 | DEBORAH SONTAG, DAVID M. HERSZENHORN and SERGE F. KOVALESKI

BOSTON — It was a blow the immigrant boxer could not withstand: after capturing his second consecutive title as the Golden Gloves heavyweight champion of New England in 2010, Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev, 23, was barred from the national Tournament of Champions because he was not a United States citizen.

The cocksure fighter, a flamboyant dresser partial to white fur and snakeskin, had been looking forward to redeeming the loss he suffered the previous year in the first round, when the judges awarded his opponent the decision, drawing boos from spectators who considered Mr. Tsarnaev dominant.

From one year to the next, though, the tournament rules had changed, disqualifying legal permanent residents — not only Mr. Tsarnaev, who was Soviet-born of Chechen and Dagestani heritage, but several other New England contenders, too. His aspirations frustrated, he dropped out of boxing competition entirely, and his life veered in a completely different direction.

Mr. Tsarnaev portrayed his quitting as a reflection of the sport’s incompatibility with his growing devotion to Islam. But as dozens of interviews with friends, acquaintances and relatives from Cambridge, Mass., to Dagestan showed, that devotion, and the suspected radicalization that accompanied it, was a path he followed most avidly only after his more secular dreams were dashed in 2010 and he was left adrift.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, right, lost at the Golden Gloves championships in 2009. A year later, a new citizenship rule blocked him.

The poor guy was a victim of biased immigration laws. Can’t blame him for blowing people up.

Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev, 23, was barred from the national Tournament of Champions because he was not a United States citizen.

He was denied citizenship because he beat the sh*t out of his girlfriend. His brother was granted citizenship. This was a sick sociopath who would have killed someone eventually, no matter where or when. Islam provided a path that justified killing 8 year olds, and he was on his way.

Garbage.

His “attitude” pre-dated his arrival in the US.

Read the statements made by his mother and his father.

What do those statements have to do with boxing?

The NYT is infested with idiots, Marxist fellow travellers and losers.

I DON’T CARE WHY HE DID IT........three people are dead and a couple of hundred are injured. I am glad he’s dead so we don’t have to spend money housing him and defending him.

“Mr. Tsarnaev now lies in the state medical examiner’s office, his body riddled with bullets after a confrontation with the police four days after the bombings”

I say again: His body smashed from his brother running him down and dragging him down the street.

Here we go with the kvetching about his ‘environment’, what WE did wrong to him, how society failed him...blah, blah, blah, blah, blah effing blah....

He and his brother, with momma’s encouragement apparently, did what they did because of words of perversion and oppression written in a filthy book told him to do it.

If the words weren’t enough, he had Imams there to twist and focus the words on hatred and Jihad against infidels, and likely many others there to help him make the bombs, finance his living, buy him a car - the whole nine yards.

Islam did this - nothing else.

I guess the authorities 1) want credit and, 2) want his death to be martyr-like so he can get his 72 virgins.

I don’t think your chickenshit brother running over you in a SUV qualifies for martyrdom.

Well, we now see the Big Media spin on the terrorists - it was BOXING that made the brothers become pressure-cooker-bombin’ radicals! Man these media creeps are desperate.

Anything to avoid mentioning the FACT that the common thread in all these terrorist attacks upon the US is that THE PERPETRATORS WERE ISLAMIC TERRORISTS. Not Christian terrorists, not Buddhist terrorists, not Jewish terrorists, not Sikh terrorists, but ISLAMIC terrorists.

Can’t be repeated enough - don’t let Big Media try to change the subject again!!

As usual, the New York Times defends enemies of our country.

Never forget that this is what these terrorists did to our fellow Americans:

Yes! TamTam made bombs and blew the legs off of joggers in Boston because he wasn't allowed to box in Golden Gloves back in 2010. That and because he was a muslim terrorist.

LOL, please forgive me S&F. I've been positively sarcastic and nasty lately. I've fallen into the mindset that all these ridiculously idiotic liberal propaganda stories deserve equally ridiculous responses. Keep on doing what you are doing, SeekAndFind- shining the light on the festering left.

The NYT, and the MSM in general, will print any explanation other than the fact that he was a Jihadist and part of a group dedicated to killing and maiming innocent Christians and especially American Christians.

They are so upset it was not a white, Christian American. Now they are beside themselves blabbering one nonsensical explanation after another.

when the judges awarded his opponent the decision, drawing boos from spectators who considered Mr. Tsarnaev dominant.

How rare. That never happens at boxing matches!

BS. So why didn't he turn pro? Because he was a coward, as he later proved in Boston.

Time to pull out the victim card for the terrorist. He didn’t get to box, his shorts were to tight, he was bullied, his mother didn’t breast feed him when he was 6! WHO CARES!! He’s a terrorist.
