Help Us Improve the Bill (Rino Rubio)(You can Comment)
Senate .gov ^ | April 17, 2013 | Marco Rubio

Posted on 04/27/2013 12:30:05 PM PDT by Hojczyk

On April 17, my colleagues and I introduced immigration legislation. It marked a first step toward achieving the strongest border security and enforcement measures in U.S. history, modernizing our legal immigration system to unleash strong economic growth and job creation, and dealing with our undocumented immigrant population in a tough, but fair way that is directly linked to achieving several security triggers.

While I believe this legislation will accomplish these things, I am also confident that an open and transparent process – one that engages every senator and the American people – will make it even better. I believe this kind of open debate is critical in helping the American people understand what’s in the bill, what it means for you and what it means for our future.

During my time in the Senate, many of you have written to me about your concerns with our immigration system. Today, I want to share this video with you in which I outline what this legislation sets out to do. And most importantly, I want to invite you to share your thoughts and submit your ideas below, on ways we can improve it.

For the sake of their own importance legislators have to make things look more complicated than they are.

Also, excessive verbiage allows more... liberal interpretation when it comes to writing the rules (an administrative task) and enforcing them.

More words = enhanced ability to bend and stretch things.

Before u can pass ANY bill...You must 1st enforce the laws we DO have!.....

1. SECURE THE BORDER!! (without this critical 1st step, all other or additional laws are useless!!)

2. Enforce all CURRENT laws and hold accountable any employer/citizen that hires ANY “illegal alien” no matter how long they have been here ILLEGALLY!! (as an analogy, if a legal AMERICAN citizen robs a bank and doesn't get caught in 1, 5, 10 years...At what point does he get to keep the money from his “illegal” act????...Should we afford ILLEGAL ALIENS more protection then our own citizens???...in addition OUR Country will have the benefit of massive self deportation by simply enforcing CURRENT LAW!)

3. When this is accomplished...CALL ALL US CONSTITUTIONALLY BOUND LEGAL US CITIZENS!!...We'll gladly give you a hand in crafting “new” and “effective” laws to help our country grow and prosper....

4. If u fail to accomplish the 1st 3 easily enforceable steps......Prepare to face us in the election process!.....proceed at your own peril...

Sincerely....An informed and concerned Legal Citizen

So if Rubio’s against benefits for illegals, even after they’re no longer illegal, then I guess he’ll be introducing legislation on Monday that requires us to stop leafletting illegals, telling them they can get food stamps without a document check—and then require everyone to go through said check—heck, might as well just crunch them through e-verify, before receiving another payment. All of a sudden our doctor shortage would be over if we dumped them off of Medicaid and Medicare, too.

I want to help!!!

Round up the illegals & ship them out. Seal up the border & NO ONE is allowed to cross.

Look up the word 'illegal' up Rubio!!!! It means exactly what it says.

I'm a Florida voter & will work to throw you & the illegals out.

Okay....I’ve been watching it for 2 hours and nothing new added. Rubio’s chief of staff Cesar Conda is probably spitting nails.

WHO is Cesar Conda?

The best improvement to the bill: “delete all”.

One should never reward bad behavior, criminal behavior, or illegal entry into our country. Pass immigration law revisions one at a time, starting with border enforcement and hiring enforcement. Fingerprint and permanently ban any illegal alien found in the country from any path to citizenship or even legal status. Then we can work on the needed reforms to our legal immigration process.

Secure the border FIRST. And let them all know that anyone caught voting illegally with lose any ability to vote in America, EVER!

Since this immigration discussion began I have been calling every congressional office i can reach. I do it all day and into the night and I also fax them. I have one issue I am trying to get a response on:
Any process for a pathway to citizenship should include cross checking voter registration roles.

I have spoken with staffers in Rubio's office three time about this and I've listened to him on every talk show that I've been able to follow. He never even mentions this important issue.

One 'conservative' host that supports the Gang of 8 asked; "If an immigrant has crossed the border illegally but lived here long enough to be a productive and law abiding citizen, even owning his own home and paying taxes how is it hurting our liberties?"

I was waiting on the line and never got on. My answer would have been "BY STEALING MY VOTE". That is my whole point about cross checking voter registration both in the past and during the application process. If a person has come here to behave and provide a better life for their family, I can understand compassionate people wanting to give them a chance at legal citizenship. BUT, if they have been participating in democrat vote fraud to put people like Obama, Pelosi and Reid in office they have continued a life of crime and should get the boot in my opinion.

Rubio's office was polite and said they'd relay the message to him. Either they didn't or it doesn't fly with Schumer. McCain's office in D.C. said they thought my suggestion would probably be seen as offensive and accusatory and would impede rather than help the discussion.

Most legal Mexicans hate the illegals....if the GOP would enforce the laws they might get more votes..the illegals have figured out how to scam the system with Obamas help..

I knew Rubio was for amnesty years ago. This guy is a POS, self serving politician who has hopes of flooding this country with ‘vote for Rubio Latinos’.

Does anyone remember the interview with GW on immigration where the interviewer asked Bush why he was going against 85% of Americans who wanted more enforcement on illegal immigration. Bush’s answer was, “well the American people are wrong”. Unfortunately the politicians have stopped listening to the American people for some time now. Even the elections are not rigged.

Let’s see how the border protection part works for the next few years, and Congress can work on making changes to legal immigration that will concentrate on benefiting the interests of this nation. Fix legal immigration, and make illegal immigration a crime punishable by hard labor. The last thing we need right now is 30 or 40 million illegals becoming Democrats and citizens, so they can vote in more Communists to plunder our wealth.
