Hollywood and the mainstream media have been portraying the Tea Party movement as racist and violent ever since it rose up during the early months of President Barack Obama's first term.
Never mind that the Occupy Wall Street movement set the standard for ideologically driven violence, and that whenever Tea Partiers gather they typically leave the grounds cleaner than when they arrived.

Not very subtle, are we? To portray the cult compound with a huge Gadsden flag on the wall.

The cult on the show reminds me of Islam.

The father of all lies twists everything around. What is good is evil, and what is evil is good. Satan runs Hollywood through the leftists, so why not have symbol of freedom be associated with a murderous cult.

And from the comments, the Obama Flying Cyber-monkeys are already flinging their poop at the story.

Hmmm...I just see a dark room with a Gadsden Flag hanging in the background. Where’s the cult?

FOX attacked EVERY conservative except for Obama-supporter
Romney, led on one side by conservative-backstabber Rove.
So how can anyone purport to be surprised that FOX
smears peaceful TEA Party conservatives.

In December 1775, "An American Guesser" anonymously wrote to the Pennsylvania Journal: "I observed on one of the drums belonging to the marines now raising, there was painted a Rattle-Snake, with this modest motto under it, 'Don't tread on me.' As I know it is the custom to have some device on the arms of every country, I supposed this may have been intended for the arms of America." This anonymous writer, having "nothing to do with public affairs" and "in order to divert an idle hour," speculated on why a snake might be chosen as a symbol for America. First, it occurred to him that "the Rattle-Snake is found in no other quarter of the world besides America." The rattlesnake also has sharp eyes, and "may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance." Furthermore, "She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her." Benjamin Franklin

that is not the “Tea Party” flag, that is the Gadsden flag that dates back to 1775
and predating that is this “Don’t Tread on Me” flag - designed by Westmoreland County PA patriots of John Proctor’s battalion, displayed as early as May 1775, and carried into battles of Trenton and Princeton

The Following has been dropping 'hints' since the beginning. Nearly every episode has a commentary line or two about Christian Right Wing Extremists and/or Nazi-type white supremacist skinheads [even though several of the cult members are OTC*].
So far, TF has been entertaining. I just wonder how long they can carry the theme before it becomes too outlandish or ridiculous. Even now, it has become repetitive -- how many times can wifey and/or kid get kidnapped and get away in a season? As for budgetary considerations, they are killing off some of the prime characters.
One could also question the viabilility of the incompetence of the FBI and authorities. Until we saw the reality of that play out live in Boston just a week ago.

I watch it.....
good show.
FYI
the principle cult contracted with a prepper group for training(the prepper groups compound had the Gadsden flag on the wall)...it was strictly a training for cash deal with a not so principled prepper leader who needed the money, but did not like the cult they were training...

Who watches television any more? Only those who don’t mind Leftist propaganda and blatant attempts at mind control.

I’m flying the Fort Moultrie flag.
The historical illiterates around here think it has something to do with Islam because of the crescent moon.

Pretty much all white people in the cult so if you are a set decorator what are you supposed to put on the wall? Can’t just leave it blank. It’s fiction folks, I don’t see novelists getting up in arms because the killer is a writer.

Thanks for posting this.
Had you not, I would have never known about it, since I do not watch “The Following”. After learning about this, I’m glad that I don’t.

Maybe TEA partiers should adopt the South Carolina flag. Stupid libs would think it shows solidarity with Islam.

That’s too bad. I recorded all the episodes so far but have not watched a single one.
I guess I’ll just go make some room on my DVR for other shows.
I’m glad I didn’t waste the time on it.
