A startling home-made video now shows the terrifying moments where Watertown residents were forced out of their homes at gunpoint as SWAT teams performed door-to-door searches as they hunted the second marathon bomber. While millions of Bostonians waited in their houses on Friday during the city-wide lockdown, the people of Watertown were faced with SWAT officers yelling at them to get out of the buildings immediately. At the time, the Boston police department and federal agents were barely criticized, but now many are concerned about the dangerous precedent that could lead to more police searches using the rationale of exigent circumstances as an excuse.

I do not intend to attempt a defense of all police actions that night.
I just think it is silly to expect the cops to know then what we know now.
BTW, once the cops left that house they didn't go to any other houses, nor did they shoot people who'd resisted.
That was a manhunt, not a police state action.
I lived near a prison for many years. happy to let the cops catch them if they get on or near my property. no warrant needed. Then there was the bear who came into my yard and scooped up my onions ~
hello officer, , what do you want, oh for us to leave our house while you come in and search it , oh yea OK no problem.
Only in the socialist cess pit of MA would they do this and then come out and cheer at the end saying we’re all Boston and we won.
I hate that state more than any other after living there, that city supported terrorism for decades in the IRA, they sent money , invited them over, supported their bombing on innocent children etc and now they got to see what they supported sadly.
Shame most of them do not stay up in their state and understand America is not MA , instead they move on mass like the locusts they are and then destroy other states
over 250 were wounded.
Look at the video in post 4. This was being done to more than one house. All these families were being “rescued” dontchaknow.
Yes. Shelves are bare.
I love how they push them out on the streets they claim are unsafe.
"Hande HO!"
"RRRRRouse mit du!"
and
"Snell! Snell! Snell!"
to make this one of the news reels from Europe in the 30's and 40's.
“Exigent circumstances?” Nope—a dishonest excuse for the Mafia to act on “hyperbolic BS” orders from sneaky, hysterical plutocrats. They’re in a panic, thinking that the political parties in their pockets have failed them and that all of the “zombies” economically below them are always about to attack. Guilt makes mob bosses act out in strange ways. Guilty as hell can make them downright ugly. VIP constituents shouldn’t be having their thugs violate the rights of their neighbors. They should start living right and get some sleep.
Right. Police have conducted manhunts all during my lifetime. Never had to do anything like this to get the job done.
Coure it all got started with the war on drugs. Cops not needing to worry about those “constitutional niceties” like the 4th amendment etc.
Hindsight is not really needed. They KNEW they were looking for one guy and saw him drive away. They had thousands of cops looking for one skinny guy. Incredible overkill and overreach. If you are saying there was potential for other accomplices and unknowns etc. Of course. That is what police deal with every day and they do with far less than a thousand police army.
LOL...let me offer you some "TEA"
Can you imagine how the liberals in the North would reach if they saw SOUTHERN police in say Mississippi going into black people’s homes, pulling them out and treating them this way? Only liberals are allowed to shove people around
A single manhunt.
And I think it's silly to excuse brutally trampling civil rights under the rubric of "police safety" when they know they have overwhelming force on their side.
If cops what their "safety" guaranteed: go become a hairdresser.
I agree to a considerable extent. Why does a terrorist manhunt require such vastly greater resources than a manhunt for anybody else?
There is, as I’ve said, the potential for an ambush, but the whole thing seems overblown. Three person multiple murders happen frequently, and this kind of reaction doesn’t routinely follow.
Though the number of injured is way out of the routine.
It was clearly in the public interest to kill or capture the puke right away.
We are not under any obligation to afford mad dog bombers on the lam a fair chance to escape.
Bingo
They wanna be HEROES -- get a badge and a gun and harrass some innocent citizens and you're a HERO.
250 is way out of line!
