A dentist in Santa Fe will fix your teeth for a fraction of the cost, provided you don’t mind him working with tools from a dirty tackle box.
Eliver Kestler Eliver Kestler, or “El Dentista” as he’s allegedly known to clients, is in Santa Fe County jail on charges including practicing without a license, distribution of a controlled substance, attempt to commit a felony, conspiracy and a warrant in a traffic case.
Kestler, 36, of Santa Fe, is accused of running an unlicensed dental practice, making home calls to clients in his red 2001 Chevrolet, according to a report written by Santa Fe Police Sgt. Mario Salbidrez. Photographs from the police show a dirty tool or fishing tackle box containing drill bits, syringes, false teeth and vials of drugs.
Salbidrez’s report alleges that he contacted Kestler and said he had a toothache. Kestler asked if his tooth had a hole, and the sergeant said he didn’t know but was in a lot of pain. Kestler said he could meet him off of Agua Fria Street within the hour.

I recall that they arrested some woman for giving silicone injections in lips and butts. She was using silicon from tubes bought at Lowes. They caught her because a couple of her patients died. Apparently, many (less educated?) people see WAY off book medical practitioners.
Westervelt said police interviewed one of Kestler’s former patients, who said he paid $80 for dental work, including crowns and a new tooth, done on April 9. She was not sure whether the man had any complications from this dental work.
