Rand Paul: Hillary's Benghazi story unraveling
WND ^ | WND

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., was “surprised” by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s sworn testimony in a Senate hearing in which she claimed that she did not know whether the U.S. mission in Libya was procuring or transferring weapons to Turkey and other Arab countries.

It was Paul who asked Clinton the question during the hearings. His inquiry focused on alleged weapons shipments out of Benghazi to arm the rebels fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on New York’s WABC Radio, Paul was reacting to Clinton’s testimony in light of a New York Times report last month that claimed that since early 2012, the CIA has been helping Arab governments and Turkey obtain and ship weapons to the Syrian rebels.

The plan mirrors one the Times reported in February as being proposed by Clinton herself. The Times described Clinton as one of the driving forces advocating for arming the Syrian rebels via Turkish and Arab cut outs.

The New York Times reported Clinton and then-CIA Director David Petraeus had concocted the plan, which called for vetting rebels and arming Syrian fighters with the assistance of Arab countries.

If Clinton knew about the arms transfers, she may have committed perjury during her Benghazi testimony.

She’s up to her neck with this.

Keep pushing Rand.

Why is Boehner protecting her?

So Clinton commits perjury, tell me WHO will prosecute her? Certainly NOT the DOJ. Nope, she will skate and the outcome will be, “What difference does it make?” The ambassador and several others a dead and that fat slob “skates?. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

What does the left have on Boehner?

It was easy enough to find what they have on Chief “Justice” Roberts....

That’s why I left the Republican party... DC is simply the sand box for the super narcissists of western society to play in.
*********
Absolutely true. Most of the denizens of DC are just there for the ego trip and job security. I mean, what else would these clowns be doing if they didn’t have their lucrative gigs in DC? The biggest fear of a DC pol is the thought of having to go back to the hinterlands, be an anonymous citizen, and get a real job producing something for someone else.

Republicans enjoy the ride and the collegiality of their Dem pals. The main difference between the two is that Dems play to win (much to the delight of their constituients) and Republicans fear their own shadow.

We need a party that the Dems fear.

They have a golden chance to nail Hillary if she runs for president right here, right now
********
NEVER gonna happen. Pubbies just won’t take it to the mat. They never do. They are the weak and stupid party.

Its pretty obvious by now he’s been compromised. Unfortunately the rest of the Republican House can’t see it.

And for the life of me I still don’t see where America’s interest is in helping one murderous group of Islamic thugs fight against another murderous group of Islamic thugs.

I disagree. I have long advocated that we encourage the murderous thugs to kill each other and leave us alone.

"I disagree. I have long advocated that we encourage the murderous thugs to kill each other and leave us alone."

They were doing that already. Why take sides and pick the more evil of the two groups? Why not just stand back and watch them do their thing?

the trouble is we sow the seeds of destruction by supporting them.

I’m sure they can get enough weapons and cash from the oil rich states in the region.

leave the US taxpayer alone.

Repealing the 17th is a double edged sword. We wouldnt have the likes of Rand, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz... These guys won elections. If state houses were appointing the Senate they would probably be appointing good old boys from the state and who who are of no use? Possibly even worse than we have now.

Emphatically agree.

What today’s U.S. Senate would look like if its members weren’t directly elected by voters.

The answer is simple: It would be controlled by the Republicans, with a chance that it could be a filibuster-proof majority.

The repubs could run Jesus Christ and the dems could run Satan...or Hitlary... and guess what .... the dems will win. Why? because 1/2 pay no taxes and want no change, voter fraud, voter ignorance, Pravda media bias, ebt, free abortions, free obamaphone and lower voter turnout.

According to a report released by the Bipartisan Policy Commission and the Center for the Study of the American Electorate.

The report revealed that despite a tight presidential election that saw an estimated $6 billion spent and an eight million person increase in the number of eligible voters, turnout dropped from 62.3 percent of those eligible voting in ‘08 to an estimated 57.5 percent in 2012. The figure was also lower than in 2004 (60.4%). There were 131 million votes cast in 2008, 126 million in 2012, and about 93 million eligible voters did not exercise their right to vote.

Democrats and Republicans both saw a dip in turnout. Democrats lost 4.2 percentage points (33.0% to 28.2%), while Republicans dropped 1.2 percentage points (28.4 % to 27.2%).

The 17th should remain as is. Your opinion is noted but is not provable.

True but they would be traitor GOP types.

So being in control of the Senate would be like having Boehner as Senate majority leader.

What’s the point? With elections we can at least push the GOP contingent further to the right and to be more conservative.

If it was all establishment they would just sell us out.

Jim DeMint once had a great quote... “i’d rather have 40 conservatives than 60 who weren’t really conservative” (paraphrasing but it wasn’t something like that)

Repealing the 17th would be a very good thing to do and a big help in restoring the Republic. Our Republic is suppose to have a small limited federal government with most powers going the states and the people. The states were suppose to be represented in the Senate, the people in the House. Currently the states have no representation at the federal level. That is very bad.

I am more concerned with good government than parties. Senators representing the interests of the states they serve would be much better government then Senators representing the interest of the parties/donors that elected them, IMHO.
