Repealing the 17th would be a very good thing to do and a big help in restoring the Republic. Our Republic is suppose to have a small limited federal government with most powers going the states and the people. The states were suppose to be represented in the Senate, the people in the House. Currently the states have no representation at the federal level. That is very bad.

BTW it takes over 20 million dollars to run for the Senate so money talks and Senators know that. However if state legislators elected Senators the cost of running would be pizza and beer for the legislators.
