Fortunate it didnt detonate. Ill never forget when I was a brand new rookie working in a bad part of town

and we made a call of a suspicious device at a local quick stop slash liquor store. We arrived and I unfortunately

walked into the store first and the middle eastern clerk handed me two pipe bombs with fuses on the ends and both had burned all the way down to the end cap.

He just jammed them into my hands and I went "oh F**k!" and turned and walked out side and set them down the whole time ready to puke.

Some guy who was mad at them had thrown them on the roof of the store . The bomb guys took them in a trailer mounted container to dispose of them.

He called late to tell us they remotely lit them again to see what would happen and both relit and exploded.

That made me cringe - picking up an unexploded shell/bomb/hand grenade/SOMETHING THAT BLOWS UP. The picker-upper needs to be put in a rubber room for being that dumb/stupid/crazy.

Probably a water soaked arty simulator, but I bet they called in the keystone kops to detonate it with a robot.
