Boat Where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Hid 'Looked Like Swiss Cheese' After Shootout Tsarnaev was found when Watertown man looked underneath tarpaulin and found the Boston bombing suspect inside
Adam Gabbatt 20 April 2013 The boat that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found hiding in looked like "Swiss cheese" after the Boston bombing suspect's shootout with police, the boat's owner told neighbours.
Tsarnaev was taken into custody after a Watertown resident, named locally as David Henneberry, went to check on his boat and found Tsarnaev inside. Swat teams moved in and a gun fight ensued, resulting in Tsarnaev being captured. He is in hospital in a serious condition.
On Saturday, Henneberry was being hailed as the man who helped end a tense 22-hour manhunt, which, until his phone call to police, had been fruitless.
But it came at a cost. The boat a source of immense pride for the owner, according to local residents was no longer seaworthy, being, as it was, riddled with bullet holes.
"He said the boat was like Swiss cheese," said one neighbour, who did not want to give her name but lived a few doors down from the boat owner.
The resident said she had spoken to Henneberry on Friday night, after police had taken away the suspect.

Here’s what they claim: the gash was a surgical incision. The dr in charge said the purple was ‘lividity’: blood settling just beneath the skin after the heart stopps. They must have had him lying on his stomach when he died; lividity sets in fairly quickly once the blood ceases to circulate.
I’m not saying whether any of that is true or not. That’s just what the dr said, fwiw.
Sounds like Ball (FMJ) Ammo, and not the HP stuff they’ve been buying by the billions.
Well, I suppose it all depends upon how a person looks at such things. If I were the boat owner, I wouldn't be looking for compensation from the city of Boston or the state of Massachusetts.
The cops, for once, were performing the fundamental task we've empowered them to do, which is, protect the public from harm. Yes, they could have tried to smoke the bomber out, coax him out, wait him out, etc., etc., etc. But in that highly charged and dangerous atmosphere, everyone just wanted the guy caught, and the threat ended.
For all anyone knew, he could have been holding a full auto rifle with a high cap magazine, ready to go out in a blaze of glory for Allah. He and his brother had already killed another officer, and of course, had killed and maimed people at the Boston marathon. In that moment, who knew what he might do?
Apparently, the boat owner is getting donations from all over the country to cover his financial loss. I think that's appropriate in this case. I don't blame the cops one bit for shooting up that boat, and I doubt the boat owner does either.
That large gash that looked like trauma was more than likely a resuscitive thoracotomy, with the smaller incision made below it for access.
Caution.. graphic demonstration.

That's the bottom line.
If the boat was “swiss cheese” how on earth did this terrorist survive?
That makes sense. The dr said he was “in [cardiac] arrest” when he arrived. They’d have taken drastic action. Also, you can see the antiseptic residue around the border of the large incision.
I’m sorry for being so mean, but the fact his little brother took him out still gives me the giggles.
What’s mean about that? I was ROFL!!!
Okay, I’ll post a thank you for being a law-abiding citizen if there’s a web page for him. It used to be that good citizenship meant obeying laws, paying taxes, etc. Ever since 9/11 it seems this country has developed a “victim gets some kind of payout” mentality. I seem to remember at one point where the OKC bombing victims got miffed because they didn’t get a payout like 9/11 families and victims.
I dunno. Yeah, it’s tough he has a holy boat now; he should file for compensation from the police and/or the victim and the Nation of Islam, CAIR, Saudi Arabia et al.
Hell, he should file a claim against Obama. He can take some of the $12K+ tax check I had to write the SOB the other day in addition to everything else I gave him all year.
hahahaha!!!!
Thanks for your thoughts and feelings and reasoning...FR is great because of these things...
9m rounds, shot high in a double hulled boat.
Agreed.
The boat is not necessary as evidence of anything until the chase ends and they find him there. Perhaps they will still file charges relating to the boat incident, but I think there is plenty without it to execute him, or figuring that the Obama administration is sympathetic to him, give him several life sentences and let him out after a few years and hire him at Cornell as a full Professor with tenure after a few years.
Now if they wanted to categorize the boat as being like a cracker, they would be more accurate as the holes in crackers (i.e. Ritz; saltines) are almost exactly the same size. The reason for this is that these holes are intentionally made by the manufacturer so as to prevent large air pockets from developing in the crackers during baking. These holes are typically referred to as "docking holes" among insiders in the cracker baking industry.
Nobody should feel sorry for the owner of this boat. He has become a minor celebrity and most likely he'll be on the Letterman Show or the Sean Hannity Show. So he will get his 15 minutes of fame and he should make the most of it.
The only day happier than the day your sell your boat is the day you have it shot full of holes on national TV.
Go to the video of the Chief explaining the events. He was alive and mobile before he was tackled and still alive when he was cuffed.
Makes me wonder which was the most radicalized. Consider he was partying it up with his college buddies the night before the first shootout.
