As news of last nights incident in Watertown, Massachusetts spread, police from all over the North East converged, once again, on Boston. Along with them were elements of the National Guard and U.S. military.
Though an official announcement has not been made, and likely will not be made, the entire Boston metropolitan area is now in complete lock-down in what can only be described as a de facto state of martial law.
By all accounts, law enforcement and military personnel have classified Boston and surrounding towns a war-zone, especially after a gunfight yesterday evening that left one of the Boston Marathon Bombers dead and the other still at large. In a video of the early morning engagement, rapid gunfire and explosive detonations, believed to be more pressure cooker bombs, can be heard as police and residents scrambled.
This has led to shelter-in-place orders being issued by officials, a widespread militarization of nearly a hundred square miles surrounding Boston, and deserted streets throughout the city.
Military personnel have reportedly been patrolling streets, performing door-to-door searches, and defusing or detonating suspected explosive devices.
Section 1031 of the controversial National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 effectively declares the United States a battlefield, suspends the U.S. Constitution and essentially allows the President, through the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. military, to deploy assets in this war zone as he sees fit:

Strange how militarized the police have become at a time when citizens are being disarmed.
I have to wonder how accurate the term “police state” or “millitary state” is, seems to be more like a “sheep state” as we make the gtovernment the farmer and we all become sheep grazing away until we are sheared on an annual basuis and then eventually taken to the processing plant to be culled (Obama death Panels)....

I must say, the huge amount of force, weapons and tanks, and how easy it was to herd the civilians is to me scary..
Is this the view of the coming future?
Actually, to me, it was a good sign. All the money spent on armored vehicles, body armor, machine guns (REAL ONES), etc. and these guys couldn’t find ONE GUY in a 20 block area THEY “SEARCHED”. Imagine what they could accomplish trying to confiscate weapons from Americans. Molon Labe.
-——Is this the view of the coming future?-—
It is the view of now, reality, what is.
watertown was under military rule of police. The actual police state existed. It is now, not tomorrow
Massive warrantless searches took place Rights were disregarded.
The state prevailed
I can only imagine how the sheeple wil react when a multi-city coordinated attack occurs.
Will they ALLOW the government to keep them locked up in their houses for days on end? Will they blindly trust what they say? Will they allow their weapons to be taken?
We have become a nation of cowards instead of a nation of fighers!
Shows you how easily we could militarize the Mexican border and shut down illegals and drugs coming over. Libs will violate The Posse Comitatus Act when it suits them. Same as the wounded brother is not being read his Miranda rights
I agree with you.
My wife was in Boston for a conference during the “lockdown”. The conference was canceled because Suspect #2 was running loose. She had no trouble checking out of the hotel, getting a limo (taxis weren’t running), riding to the airport and taking an earlier flight home. She said the airport was a ghost town.
It reminds me of Star Wars, The Clone Wars. At the end a huge army of Storm troopers come in and save the heroes from the bad guys. As a viewer, You of course already know the storm troopers will not always be fighting for the side of good..
As far as I know, the last time Boston was under martial law was during the British occupation that ended on March 17, 1776—celebrated today as Evacuation Day, a local holiday.
Can this be considered a violation of the Posse comitatus Act,
Sixth guy in from the right with his mouth wide open, “Special” Forces?
Now translate this to a scenario where a government is hostile to a large number of the 300 million in this country, and declares them "enemies of the state". I have a strong suspicion that under such a scenario cooperation won't be so forthcoming. Further, multiply the tie-down of assets in Boston/Watertown by several orders of magnitude. I don't think this particular instance is the imminent forcing of a Police State (however much Napolitano and Obama might like to put one in place). However, keeping aware and stamping down any attempts to expand the idea that having police and troops in the streets as an everyday occurance is prudent.
I was flipping channels at a friend’s house this morning, and the corporate newsies were ephasizing:
sports
fear
sports
feeeeelings
sports
more fear
The conditioning was blatant and rather heavy-handed.
And more sports.
Baaaaa...
Yep, look at all those AR’s ( probably M-4’s) with 30+ round magazines
look like people trouble maker Michael Moore and David Axelrod were hoping had done the bomb as opposed to al quaida who is supposed to love our administration and not cause trouble in our backyard since that administration has reached out to them in love and understanding, right?
