THERE ARE NEEDS, AND THEN THERE ARE NEEDS
"The bird does not sing because he has an answer; he sings because he has a song."
Old Chinese Proverb
Peppermint Patty, of Peanuts cartoon fame, can be impatient at times. You Peanuts fans may recall one of those times. School was about to begin, and Peppermint Patty went shopping. She entered the store, and proceeded directly to the counter, and said, "Sir, I need some school supplies some pencils, some paper, a loose-leaf binder, and some answers. I need a lot of answers."
Most of you have probably encountered someone who continually experiences difficulty in distinguishing NEEDS from WANTS. Conventional wisdom: we need food, air, water and shelter to survive; however, we do not need exotic foods, Caribbean trade wind breezes, Mountain spring water and a castle nestled in the hillsides of Scotland in order to survive. The massive explosion of commercialism causes great difficulties for many adults....those who talk about wants as though they are needs. Hmmmmmm, no wonder so many young people are confused. It is okay, however, to be confused. It is okay to not have all of the answers. More to the point, it is human to not have all of the answers. In light of the human predicament, our greatest need may be what we earnestly want...to be at peace within ourselves, unfettered by all of the trappings of actions and titles that signify to many that we truly are persons of worth. It is okay to simply be. Consider the bird who sings simply because she has a song. Captain Lorenzo C. York, CHC, USN

Did you ever get one of those jar picker upper thingies?
Errands complete, for the weekend, I hope. Sorting paperwork...LOTS of things require a death certificate to complete. I’m still waiting for them. Then I’ll take a day off and take my Mom and paperwork around town to get utilities and bank accounts changed into her name.
WOW! That’s a lot of strawberries. Amazing price is always nice to find. Happy canning and freezing.

Sounds good...have to find a substitute for the stuff with green chili...neither my Mom nor I can handle them.
How about the chicken with just the taco seasoning packet?
I like putting all the possible toppings out for each to choose. And the shredded stuff is lovely.

It takes ALL the dedicated people to make it work.
Thank you both for helping. And a special thanks to you as Veterans.

Kathy, if you can’t handle green chili, my guess would be to add a can or two of diced tomatoes with the packet of taco seasoning (or a part of the packet if it’s just for one or two), depending on how much you are making. I hope you don’t try to make it dry. I am sure it will turn out perfect!

I had bunches of notes to make sure I didn’t mess up.
Remember how bad it got if you forgot to close your code?
Man...FReepers were unmerciful if you forgot.
And most comments had already been made by the time I got to the threads. The 4 hour time difference is a bit of an issue to this day.

Good morning and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours, JJ.
We are doing well. My Dad is on the mantle and we talk to and about him every day. At a later date his ashes will be buried at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. My Mom wears his wedding ring and feels his presence. They had more than a year to talk about the past and present. We feel blessed that The Lord took him home quickly after the stroke.
