WATERTOWN, Mass.—Investigators in the Boston Marathon bombing case shifted their focus Saturday to hunting for a motive and preparing charges after apprehending a 19-year-old college student Friday night.
The charges against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who remained hospitalized with severe injuries, could be filed this weekend, but it might take longer as law enforcement officials continue investigating numerous crime scenes in and around Boston. Investigators were also eager to talk to Mr. Tsarnaev, who was listed in serious condition after being badly injured early Friday morning in a firefight with police officers that left his 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, dead.
Investigators have alleged that the two brothers carried out the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three and injured more than 175 on Monday.
Authorities gave no indication of what motivated the brothers. Their family roots stretch to the Russian republic of Chechnya, which has been a wellspring of terrorism over the years.

Uh, because a very large percentage of the Muslim world hates Western civilization and wants to destroy it, but are too cowardly to do anything about it other than bomb innocent women and children?
She spent a term of her college in Hawaii. I’d be amazed if she never visited the beach then. It must have been a great novelty for an Alaskan. But nary a photo to be seen of it.

Albrecht Ammon, a downstairs-apartment neighbor of Tamerlan Tsarnaev in Cambridge, said in an interview that the older brother had strong political views about the United States. Ammon quoted Tsarnaev as saying that the U.S. uses the Bible as “an excuse for invading other conuntries.”
