The capital "apparently indicates that an entire temple of castle is buried beneath it," the newspaper adds. However, when Rosental contacted the Israel Antiquities Authority to inform them of the find, the person he spoke to simply said "Yaron, good for you. You found it, but we already are aware of it. Now forget about the whole thing and keep your mouth shut."
Rosental said that he later found out that the IAA had known about the side for 18 months. He said that no digging has taken place since then, and that even steps like cordoning off the area to prevent damage to the rare find, have not been taken.
Rosental calls this "a scandal" but says that no less worrisome is that the state appears to have plans to move the separation fence between Israel and the PA in a way that will leave the site in the PA's hands,
According to Rosental, excavation of the site has potential for uncovering a complete castle from the Judean kings' period, for the first time ever. "We appear to have a complete castle here," he said. "Those who came after it did not know of its existence." The details found inside could be "amazing."
The IAA confirmed to Makor Rishon that the find is an important one that appears to date to the period of Judean kings. However, the IAA added, the subject is "sensitive" and "requires serious and responsible handing."

A castle? Could it be The Temple?
Impossible. That’s in Jerusalem.
ping for GGG
Point taken. Thanks!
By ‘capital’ they mean the top of a column.
I have no idea what “temple of castle” means, but this seems to be a royal palace in south Jerusalem rather than the expected location in the north of the city.
Liberals would like to see Israel handed over to the Palestinians, but who do they think built these structures thousands of years ago? Where do they think Jews originally came from if they think they “stole” the land?
Probably meant temple OR castle.
Makes sense.
Oh, it will be.
A pig and an ape had a special feeling for one another, and then...
Of course, that would bring about another wave of hysteria to the Muslim world. Something that comes very easily to them, it seems. Look what they do when the Pope quotes some ancient emperor, or a cartoon depicting Mohammed is printed. Even if something like an earthquake brought it down, Israel would be blamed, because there is a little-known conspiracy theory that they’re developing an earthquake machine to do just that. That said, this doesn’t stop Muslims from desecrating the holy sites of other religions. The dome of the rock is in itself a desecration, and should be razed.
I would not be surprised if Iran covertly destroyed it.
On a side note: I would be curious to know, if I posted the same thing on DU, KOS or Huff post, how many viewers needed to look up the definition of “Razed” ? Or would they consider it a “slang” of “raised”, which is the complete opposite.
Repainting and decorating are common but, in general, we don't knock them down unless we are crazy people in India. The muzzies and hindus do this to each other all the time.
So, how did the erection of that building desecrate anything, unless you believe ruins left behind by Roman armies are to be treated as sacred.
Remember, when the time comes the place will be properly prepared.
Sympathy for the devil.
Israelis need to start resorting to violence and armed occupation of sites like this, the temple Mount and the cave of the Patriarchs to ensure Jewish dominion over them.
There are still blonds throughout the ME, just not as many of them as in Finland, but then again, how many places have that many blonds.
The Phi Mus at Gainesville maybe.
