Boston Suspects' Background Threatens To Derail Immigration Bill Some Republicans voice second thoughts about immigration reform legislation in light of the revelation that the Boston bombing suspects are ethnic Chechens who came to the U.S. from Russia.
Given the events of this week, it's important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system, Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said at a hearing on the immigration reform bill.
By Lisa Mascaro April 19, 2013 WASHINGTON The background of the Boston bombing suspects quickly emerged Friday as a potential hurdle to immigration reform, as renewed fears of terrorism gave conservative opponents a fresh argument against a proposed new law.
"Given the events of this week, it's important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system," Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said at a hearing.
"How can individuals evade authorities and plan such attacks on our soil?" he asked. "How do we ensure that people who wish to do us harm are not eligible for benefits under the immigration laws, including this new bill before us?"
Conservative commentators echoed Grassley.
The proposed law's "sponsors should delay debate on the bill until there is a full and complete account of how the children who became terrorists came into the country," wrote Hugh Hewitt, a radio host, referring to the brothers who are suspected of planting two bombs at the Boston Marathon that killed three people and injured more than 170.
After it became known that the older brother had died in a shootout with police, Ann Coulter tweeted: "It's too bad Suspect # 1 won't be able to be legalized by Marco Rubio, now."

No $h!t Chuck!!!
Gee, to bad.
It should! It should at least provide cover for the spineless GOPers who didn’t feel they could pipe up and resist. Let’s see if they are able to work with that,,doubt it,,but I can hope.
The “Gang of 8 Buffoons” need to put the veil back over that garbage and send it home to mama.
well we only have 30 million more to deal with!
Who’s gonna be maimed and die next just because
Liberals wanna be the nice guy!
Every liberal Democrat should be searchin his soul!
I kinda doubt it. The Useful Idiots in charge these days can’t, no, WON’T see the forest for the trees!
Hugely terrible week for libs. I’m gonna go celebrate now.

Wow, I am SO sorry about that...
The Boston bo****** was more than horrible, but the incident shone a light on the two TOP MSM/Obama discussions of the past two weeks. It has (or should have) greatly weakened the Leftward leaning immigration and 2nd amendment arguments.
Pit-y!
All you will get from a lib is “whoops”.
Sounds good to me!!!!!!!!!
All forign aid gone, borders closed, all visas denied!
Go home to your own country!
You have bled America to death> We don’t need or want you here!
Ya know McCain is all chagrined that o IS “ANGRY” over the fate of gun bill.
I’d must rather see them both “chagrined and angry” than FReepers upset and demoralized that we have lost the country.
We need a win now and then!!
Well, as the libtards says, “If it’ll save just one life.....”
I want to know about all the welfare, section 8, food stamps, subsidies this family got in Cambridge since the time they moved there.
I know one of the sons got at least a $1500 scholarship from the city of Cambridge. What else did the family get? Oh yes, $1600+ worth of clothing stolen from Lord & Taylor.
The “never let a good crisis go to waste” could take a turn, huh?
